Dot-2-Dot Cafe, Clay Station Studio host Mayor Menino for Grand Opening June 28
Join Mayor Menino, neighbors and friends at 10 AM, Saturday, June 28 for the grand opening of the Dot-2-Dot Cafe and Dot Art's Clay Station sculpture studio.
We will meet at the Clay Station, 1782 Dorchester Ave, at the corner of Shepton Street, and move on to the Dot-2-Dot at 1739 Dot Ave.
The Clay Station
is a ceramics studio providing classes for people of all ages, as well
as space for aspiring and professional artists to work. The Clay
Station is the only studio of its kind in Dorchester, housing pottery
wheels, classroom space and a glazing station, as well as exhibition
space for original work made in the studio.
The Dot-2-Dot is Dorchester's newest cafe. Owner Karen Henry-Garrett, a
Cordon-Bleu-trained chef and local resident, serves up
everything from coffee & pastries to cuisines from around the
world, in a menu that changes daily. She also provides catering for office meetings and parties. The Dot-2-Dot features
plenty of seating, free wi-fi access, and exhibits of local artwork. |
Dot Day wrap-up
Thanks to all who marched and cheered on the SMAMS contingent in this year's Dot Day Parade on June 1! A special thanks to Mike Seigal and Ashmont Tire, who donated the "sweet" 1973 Mercedes that was the hit of the parade.

Carruth condos available for "test drive"
In
order to be more responsive to the changing and sometimes chaotic mortgage
market, Trinity Financial is expanding the options available to people who are
interested in The Carruth but may not be ready to buy at this time.
Trinity will be offering potential Carruth residents on the 5th and
6th floors the option to buy, lease, or lease with an option to purchase.
The intention is still to sell all 42 units as individual condominiums, but in
the current market this flexibility offers more options to potential
buyers.
Trinity anticipates signing one-year leases with an average rent
of approximately $1,850. Heat, hot water, air conditioning and a parking
space will be included in the rent. Residents who sign leases will also be
offered the opportunity to lock in a fixed purchase price and can purchase their
unit anytime during their lease term.
For more information
on these options, please call 617-929-1900 or visit www.thecarruth.com
