SMAMS, and our next-door neighbor Fields Corner Main Street, are teaming up to present Martinis on the Avenue on Tuesday, November 15, 7:00 ? 10:00 PM, at the Blarney Stone Pub, 1505 Dorchester Ave.

Tickets are $25 and include hors d?oeuvres and the lively music of the Joe Carson Band.

The evening will also mark the debut of the ?Dotini,? a closely guarded recipe developed by SMAMS and FCMS volunteers.

Martinis on the Avenue, subtitled 7 on the Dot, will benefit SMAMS? and FCMS' work of revitalizing our Dorchester ("Dot") Avenue business districts, located mainly between Ashmont and Fields Corner stations.

The stations themselves are undergoing complete renovations, and commercial development is heating up. SMAMS has recruited the Ashmont Grill, a new restaurant across from the station, and is leading the community input on a commercial/residential ?Transit- Oriented Development? project planned for the front of the station. FCMS recently renewed operations with an energetic board of directors and is working to help its dense, ethnically diverse business district share in the prosperity that often accompanies transit upgrades.
