Department of Veterans Affairs New Campaign Building Momentum to End Veterans Homelessness by 2015 As part of its drive to end homelessness among Veterans by 2015, the Department of Veterans Affairs is launching a nation-wide outreach initiative, "Make the Call," to spread the message about VA's programs to help Veterans experiencing homelessness and their families. "Those who have served this nation as Veterans should never find themselves on the streets, living without care and without hope," said Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki. Shinseki noted that 28 communities - from Atlanta to Hawaii - will host special programs this fall highlighting local services for Veterans experiencing homelessness, their families and those at risk of becoming homeless. - Learn more VISN 3 Announces New Contract to Provide Case Management for Veterans in the HUD-VASH Program The VA New York / New Jersey Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 3) has awarded one of the first contracts in the country to a community-based agency to provide housing placement and case management services to homeless Veterans in the HUD-VASH program.
