USICH is excited to announce a brand new face for http://www.usich.gov. We have spent many months designing and building our new site, and we hope that it will be a valuable resource for the field. The new site bolsters one of the objectives of Opening Doors, which is to increase knowledge about the nature and causes of homelessness and promising interventions to prevent and end homelessness.
The updated site includes a number of exciting new features:
A searchable research and evaluation section that includes over 125 abstracts of some of the most important studies from the last decade.
A media center that contains feature stories about work on the ground and specific population related issues.
A calendar that shows upcoming grant deadlines, training opportunities, and national conferences.
All of the resources and information on the site can be filtered based on your needs so that you can find what you are looking for whether you want information on programs for a specific population or the latest research on accessing mainstream benefits. When you visit the site, simply click the "Information by..." box on the lower left side of most pages.
Over the next few months, we will be launching additional tools including a "solutions" database, an interactive map with local stakeholder information and data on their communities, and guidance on accessing technical assistance from USICH member agencies.
We have also joined Facebook and Twitter. We welcome your feedback on our new site.
