What we Learned
In
order to meet the HEARTH Act's legislative mandate, USICH adopted as a key
value the importance of aggressively soliciting public engagement-at all levels-for
the development of the Federal Strategic Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness. The process to
create the Plan was designed to be transparent and provide multiple
opportunities for input, feedback, and collaboration. USICH received unprecedented
levels of public engagement. Regional stakeholders meetings were held in
February and early March to engage leaders of regional and state interagency
councils, as well as stakeholders from throughout the multi-state regions.
Nearly 1,000 participants provided input in these meetings and over 7,700 people
visited an online forum to share their ideas. This is a summary of
what USICH has learned from a host of regional stakeholder meetings, an online
interactive forum, and listening sessions with federal workgroups. If you have any additional comments beyond what you may
have posted online or in one of the regional meetings, please email fsp@usich.gov. Read More > |
