Hi everyone, the following are notes from web the 3/1 web committee meeting. Read if interested-just trying to keep everyone in the loop on what is happening with your chamber.

Notes from yesterday's (3/1) web and social media marketing meeting.
In attendance: Adam, Melissa, Lisa
Discussion re: website redevelopment. Adam took specific notes for possible changes to website.
General discussion re: purpose of committee, social media, ideas for marketing. Adam reported that work on new site will be completed by 3/15.
Adam gave report on stats from old site live November 2010 to February 25 2011 compared to current site live November 2011 to February 25 2012. Significant decrease in traffic verifies need to bring on new site ASAP! Click Here for Report
After launch of new site
Priorities for Web and Social Media committee:
1. Define goals for social media marketing efforts for chamber in general, but also with respect to specific marketing programs or events.
2. Develop social media and web educational programs for members in areas such as:
facebook/twitter
youtube
review sites: tripadvisor/yelp
group couponing/travel
mobile search
3. Provide feedback on chamber website development.
Some specific issues identified:
a. review keyword searches (weaknesses include searches for Dover, also include keywords like weddings, motorcycle tours, etc)
b. Make sure that chamber site has prominent links from businesses, towns, etc.
4. Develop social media marketing campaign for summer 12 and winter 13 based on available funding.
Encourage/require? links back to chamber. Need to educate membership on value to their site if linked back to chamber. This link will increase their google standings-not well articulated to date.

Next steps:
At next meeting we'll focus on priorities 1 and 2.
Next meeting date: Thursday, March 22 at 9:30 at Bartleby's Books. Note: we set a date of Tuesday, March 20 in the meeting, but I realized after that it conflicts with chamber board meeting.
