"A change in the weather is sufficient to recreate the world and ourselves." -Marcel Proust

Dear Sweet Yogis and Yoginis,
It seems that the weather has finally and definitively changed and so with it does our world. With this change we are presented, indeed gifted with, the opportunity to approach transformation within ourselves . Although the chance to recreate ourselves is ever-present, we often need to look around us for cues and reminders that give us perspective and that inspire us to return to what is really important and meaningful in our lives. I, like the transcendentalist poets (Emerson, Thoreau, Whitman), often find ample opportunity in the flamboyance of nature to refresh my eyes and renew my efforts to recreate and reconnect to myself. At Om Sweet Om we are all about seizing that opportunity in each precious moment of every day of our lives.

Along these lines, this month we are excited to bring to you the Ultimate Energy Cleanse to help refresh and renew your strength and energy for the fall season.
For your convenience we are offering the option of purchasing the foods, 2 prepared meals per day (made by a natural, organic gourmet chef) and all the fruits and vegetable needed for the week for juicing, for only $35 per day.
Pick-up will be Friday night, Monday night and Wednesday night. (5-8pm).
The cleanse kit is available for $199. You may purchase both for $444 or each separately by check made out to cash or with cash. A deposit of $100 by October 16 is needed to place your order. Please join us on this journey into greater health and well-being. If you want more specific info on the cleanse, visit www.ultimateenergycleanse.com

Saucha
Saucha the first Niyama is directly translated as cleanliness of body, heart, mind and environment. The practice of saucha involves making choices about what you take in as food, through all channels, mouth, ears, eyes and mind, as well as releasing or removing what is no longer necessary or helpful to the body. Keeping clean in thought , speech as well as action sweeps confusion from the mind leading to greater clarity. Purity of body, ridding the body or toxins that accumulate and create lethargy, dullness and irritability, leads one to feel clearer and more focused and have a greater sense of well being and joy!
parvrittaparsvakonasana
Pavritta Parsvakonasana-Revolved Side Angle Posture
From downward facing dog. Step the right foot forward to the right wrist keep the back heel off the ground to begin. Come up into alana or lunge (right knee bent at a right angle, back leg straight. Bring you r left elbow, or if possible shoulder to the outside of your right knee and press elbow against knee and knee against elbow to create a twist with your torso and right shoulder turning up to the right. The left hand can drop down to the floor on the out side of your right foot or block. If all is well here you can begin to spin your back heel to the floor ( as in warrior 1). If necessary you may lower your back knee to the floor for extra support. Breath deeply although you are twisting, Inhale and feel the spine get long, exhale and twist a little deeper rotating your right shoulder upward. Repeat on other side.

Physical benefits-Pavritta parsvakonasana, as all spinal twist are cleansing postures. They massage the internal organs and help to dislodge toxins and flush the organs (kidneys, liver, intestines and adrenal glands) with fresh fluids. They aid in digestion and elimination. They also help to tone the abdominal muscles. Revolved side angle, being a standing posture also works the legs and sense of balance.

Spiritual Benefits-Cleansing the organs, ridding the body or toxins that accumulate and create lethargy and dullness and irritability, leads one to feel clearer and more focused and have a greater sense of well being and joy!

Particularly useful for you would be Qi Gong. These would help you to understand the flow of energy in your body, so that you could learn to control the flow of acid and bowels and be more aware of these movements in your body. Nurses and Doctors are talking about Qigong, which is poised to be the next major social wellness.

Press your standing foot into the floor , press your lifted foot into your thigh and your thigh against your foot. Press your palms together at the heart center in prayer position. Find your inner stillness, draw the awareness inside and breath the arms up over your head . If the shoulders are open then the palms may touch otherwise keep the hands apart. Try 5 breaths to begin and increasing with practice. Repeat on the other side.

Qigong is offered Mondays from 9:00-10:00 am and Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 pm
