Get The Thunderbirds Mentioned
On Hockey Night In Canada

HockeyNightInCanada

The T-Birds are encouraging their fans to sign up for a Twitter account and follow @SeattleTbirds, which is the T-Birds official Twitter page. Fans should use @SeattleTbirds, and the #Tbirds or #tbirds hash tags in their posts and they will show up in a widget on the T-Birds website.

The T-Birds will use this widget and their Twitter page during the season and at all home games to engage and interact with fans and answer hockey related questions.

We hope to use Twitter to get our fans closer to the game and the team they love.

As part of this increased Twitter outreach the T-Birds are also encouraging their fans to get Jeff Marek (@JeffMarek) iDesk Host on CBC's Hockey Night In Canada to mention the Seattle Thunderbirds during one of his intermission segments on the show.  T-Birds fans should follow Jeff's page, @JeffMarek, and make sure they use Jeff's address (@JeffMarek) and one of the two T-Birds hash tags in their Twitter posts so that it shows up on Jeff's page and in any and all widgets Jeff and Hockey Night In Canada have set up.

The T-Birds suggest letting Jeff know interesting facts and tidbits about our players.  For example:

· Does Jeff know that Mitch Elliot speaks fluent French?

· Does Jeff know Burke Gallimore is quite the dancer and jump roper?

· Does Jeff know the T-Birds have 4 players ranked in the NHL Central Mid-Term Rankings? Which is tied for the most in the WHL.

· Does Jeff know the T-Birds CoJac? Tell Jeff "Who Loves You Baby?" We do!

· Does Jeff know which T-Bird dominated the street hockey games at Sawyer Wood Elementary?

· Does Jeff know 20-year-old defenseman Brenden Dillon is getting a lot of interest from NHL teams?

If social media users across the country can get Betty White and the Cookie Monster on NBC's Saturday Night Live, we think T-Birds fans can use social media to get us mentioned on Hockey Night In Canada.
