SB 607
On February 2, The Senate Committee on Health, Mental Health and Senior Services voted "Do Pass" on SB 607 (which combined SB 602, 615, 725) which if passed, would require "drug testing for work-eligible TANF applicants and recipients based upon reasonable suspicion".

HB1377 also, regarding TANF and drug testing was laid over.

Colleen Coble testified regarding this bill and reported that nearly 3,000 Missourians are on waiting lists to access treatment. This bill would place even greater pressure on a system that is overburdened with waiting lists. Treatment capacity is not addressed in this bill. And because of this, if an individual does test positive on a drug screen and is required to go to treatment, they may "fall through the cracks" without accessing treatment in an appropriate amount of time.

ACT Missouri and the Missouri Recovery Network DO NOT support the bills as written.
