Every friday students will be given bulletins, forms, and flyers to bring home with important information and dates!

 Band

Any students in grades 4-6 who are ready to start in band, please contact Mr. Dysart as soon as possible.  Band is starting on Tuesday!  If you have already been in contact via email, you do not need to send another.  Last spring about 25 new students tried instruments.  Hopefully a high percentage of them will now enroll in band!

Returning band students - see you at 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday!

Children's Choir

All students in grades 2-8 are invited to join the Children's Choir! The choir meets after school on Thursdays from 3-4, and sings for parish and school liturgies. More information and a full schedule is available on the parish website, www.olpmn.org under "worship", or email Wendy Silhavy. Rehearsals start September 20 - all are welcome!

On Today's Date . . .

    Fight Procrastination Day!

You know that thing you said you would do ... or that project you just can't seem to finish ... today is the day to knuckle down and check it off the list!

You can do it!

We can fight procrastination together!

But ... maybe tomorrow.

Fundraisers or Donations

  Scrip

The scrip fundraiser continues this year! Find forms online on the Scrip webpage and turn them into the office to help the school with purchases for your everyday needs!

Items Needed

Do you ask yourself what you will do with all those egg cartons and pop bottles? BRING THEM TO SCHOOL!

Kids' Games would like donations of two liter soda pop bottles--any variety you wouldn't mind your kid winning and bringing home with them! At least 100 bottles are needed to run the game through the afternoon.

Mrs. Jameson, the new librarian, is in desperate need of some egg cartons! Bring them to school and watch her organize that library!

Books, Books, Books!

As a new school year gets underway, we are reminded of the necessity and simple pleasure of good, old-fashioned BOOKS.  Yes, Nooks and Kindles are becoming more popular, but nothing can replace the feel of a book in your hands as you rifle through its pages.

One Literary Place, OLP's book store, is returning to the Block Party this fall, but only if YOU can help us out by donating your current, relevant, gently used books and media of all genres-- fiction, non-fiction, magazines, children's books and DVDs.

Are you a book lover?  Donate some of your already-read titles to make way for some fresh titles.

Are you a Nook or Kindle lover?  Donate some of your traditional books that you no longer need.

Remember that the book store is only as good as the books that YOU donate, so grab a bag, fill it up and drop it off in the 12th Street entrance of the church or in the school office.

Whate'er I do, things great or small
Whate'er I do, things great or small
Whate'er I speak or frame.
Thy glory may I seek in all,
Do all in Jesus' name.

My Father, for His sake I pray.
Thy child accept and bless
And lead me by Thy grace to-day
In paths of righteousness. Amen.
