Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
Theodore Seuss Geisel was writer, poet, advertisement designer, and cartoonist. His children's books have been adapted to television, movies and broadway! He's taught us the virtue of following & breaking the rules, that you are never too old to learn and that we must take care of our planet and each other. Hurray Seuss!

5th Grade Revolutionary Day Parade March 2nd is rememberance of the American Revolution. To celebrate and remember the 5th grade put on a wax museum for the school, traveling from room to room.

Foodshelf
Each March Minnesota FoodShare runs the largest food drive in the state and restocks food shelves across Minnesota. During March all financial contributions are doubled through a matching grant, so your almsgiving goes twice as far. Envelopes will be available in the Church pews beginning March 3rd. Place your financial contribution in the envelopes and deposit them in the weekend collection or you can drop them off at the parish office by March 31st.
We will also hold a food drive at all school Mass on March 29th to collect non-perishable food items for a local food shelf.
Our Lady of Peace Home
Our Lady of Peace Home (formerly Our Lady of Good Counsel Cancer Home) is currently operated by the Franciscan Health Community and treats terminal cancer patients who are unable to afford care in other nursing facilities or to continue care at home. On the weekend of March 10-11, we will be collecting toiletries for the patients of Our Lady of Peace Home.
St. Francis Academy, Moto Hope Mission, Molo, Kenya
Last December Fr. Francis Kabiru spoke at all Masses about St. Francis Academy at Moto Hope Mission and its need for school supplies, books and uniforms. He will also be speaking to our school children as well. This year's Lenten Project will be to collect funds for text books, school uniforms and transportation for St. Francis Academy in Molo, Kenya. From March 7th to March 15th, students from the school, Be-Attitudes, Deepening our Faith and parishioners, will have the opportunity to contribute to St. Francis Academy. | Extended Day ~ Spotlight | S.P.A.R.K.: Extended Day Program
SPARK stands for "Sports, Play & Active Recreation for Kids" We start each day off with 40-50 mins of "SPARK" time The program was developed by a team of researchers and educators from San Diego State . It was supported by grant money from the Heart,Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health as a counter to heart disease.(the number one cause of death in the USA) It promotes physical activity especially after the students have been sitting for much of the day , or have little or no PE time during the regular school day. The focus of SPARK is the development of motor skills, movement knowledge and social and personal skills. It is our hope that physically educated children and adolescents become lifelong movers and model the behaviors necessary to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Some other bullet points about SPARK and what we expect to accomplish with the program: Participants will: · Enjoy and seek out physical activity · Develop the ability to get along with others in movement environments (share space, share equipment, employ good sportsmanship behaviors · Develop self-responsibility for physical activity · Help them to maintain acceptable levels of physical activity · Creativity in playing games · Increased opportunities for social interaction

My Father, for His sake I pray. Thy child accept and bless And lead me by Thy grace to-day In paths of righteousness. Amen.
