An Indoor Picnic with Great Entertainment
The families of Wednesday Night Religion enjoyed an indoor picnic on February 15 and entertained each other with great skills. For further proof that ours is one of the most talented corners of Minneapolis, visit our website for more photos from the event and get more information about our Wednesday Night Religion programs.

A Shift in our Work with St. Francis Academy
Part of our parish dedication to justice and charity during Lent is a commitment to St. Francis Academy in Molo, Kenya. Our original fundraising efforts were going to go toward books, uniforms, and school supplies. However, a more immediate need to drill a bore hole for drinking motowater has developed. Gifts from Our Lady of Peace will go toward that endeavor.

Everyone in the parish has the opportunity to help support St. Francis Academy any way they can. Envelopes will be in the pews beginning March 3rd.  Our Lady of Peace Catholic School students and Wednesday night religion students will receive envelopes on March 7th. Student envelopes should be returned by March 21st. Parishioner envelopes may be returned by April 1st. More information at www.motohopemission.com
Catholicism Series Update
CATHOLICISM SERIES

The Catholicism Series is in full swing and many members of our parish have enjoyed the start of the series. Up next:

On Monday, March 5 we will view episode 3. In this episode viewers will go from the Sinai dessert to Paris to Istanbul to Rome to study the mystery of God.

On Tuesday, March 6, will view episode 2. In this episode we focus on the teachings of Jesus including the Beatitudes, parables, forgiveness, non-violence, and caring for the poor.

We are still welcoming all who would like to attend! Check  www.olpmn.org/Catholicism for details.
Minnehaha Food Shelf
Our Lady of Peace is proud to be a contributor to the Minnehaha Food Shelf. Last year we contributed several hundred pounds of food and $2,543.74 to the Minnehaha Food Shelf. Each month the Minnehaha Food Shelf gives out 25,000 pounds of food to needy families. Some of the food is donated, but most is purchased through Second Harvest Heartland. On March 10-11, we will be collecting breakfast foods, e.g., cereal, juice, eggo's, etc. Please place your donations in the boxes outside the entrances of the church. Envelopes will also be available for monetary contributions.
Mardi Gras Thank You
The Mardi Gras Gala, held on February 11, was a success. The community celebrated and toasted our school. Look for official numbers on how much was raised in the coming weeks. For now, a heartfelt thank you to the donors. (PDF)
