Events.

Lenten Fish Fry

Friday March 2nd

5-7:30 p.m.

Hosted by the Men's Club of OLP - a Lenten Meal with Family & Friends!

Happy Birthday to Wilhem Carl Grimm!
What would childhood be without the fairy tales compiled and edited by the Brothers Grimm? Born in 1786, Wilhem Grimm studied law and spent his adult life dedicated to books, writing, and libraries.

As Lent begins and midquarter approaches it is a fine time to assess what we are and where we are going, individually and as a community.

Foodshelf

Each March Minnesota FoodShare runs the largest food drive in the state and restocks food shelves across Minnesota.  During March all financial contributions are doubled through a matching grant, so your almsgiving goes twice as far.  Envelopes will be available in the Church pews beginning March 3rd.  Place your financial contribution in the envelopes and deposit them in the weekend collection or you can drop them off at the parish office by March 31st.

We will also hold a food drive at all school Mass on March 29th to collect non-perishable food items for a local food shelf.

Our Lady of Peace Home

Our Lady of Peace Home (formerly Our Lady of Good Counsel Cancer Home) is currently operated by the Franciscan Health Community and treats terminal cancer patients who are unable to afford care in other nursing facilities or to continue care at home.  On the weekend of March 10-11, we will be collecting toiletries for the patients of Our Lady of Peace Home.

St. Francis Academy, Moto Hope Mission, Molo, Kenya

Last December Fr. Francis Kabiru spoke at all Masses about St. Francis Academy at Moto Hope Mission and its need for school supplies, books and uniforms.  He will also be speaking to our school children as well. This year's Lenten Project will be to collect funds for text books, school uniforms and transportation for St. Francis Academy in Molo, Kenya.  From March 7th to March 15th, students from the school, Be-Attitudes, Deepening our Faith and parishioners, will have the opportunity to contribute to St. Francis Academy.  More information will be available in the bulletin and on the website.

Whate'er I do, things great or small
Whate'er I do, things great or small
Whate'er I speak or frame.
Thy glory may I seek in all,
Do all in Jesus' name.

My Father, for His sake I pray.
Thy child accept and bless
And lead me by Thy grace to-day
In paths of righteousness. Amen.
