Mardi Gras ~ One Week Away!

Volunteers Needed

Mardi Gras Gala Night is approaching. Parents and volunteers are working hard to make this a great event ~ but they need you help! Mardi Gras and similar events are made spectacular by the time, support, and efforts of parents and the community. Please consider making some time in your schedule to help make this event the biggest and most successful fundraiser this school year! Sign up can be found on the website.

Student Contributions

Each year families and students are asked to donate or help provide items or money for the Mardi Gras Gala Silent Auction, Fund-a-need, and food. Families and students have done stupendously providing for the iPad raffle and baskets! Thank you!

Next week a notice will go home asking for help bringing in specific food items to help manage costs of the event and thereby increase the revenue raised!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should come?

This is an adults only event. If you are an adult, you should come!

How much does it cost?

There is no charge for admission. We want everyone to feel welcome no matter how they are able to contribute. This is a fundraiser, so there are many opportunities to help us raise money. Tip the bartender, buy a raffle ticket, or bid on an auction item. Give your time or talent, this event is only possible with the donated time of our gracious community.

What should I wear?

Mardi Gras is the perfect excuse to pull out those sequined pants and gold lame vest. Dress is festive and fun with bright colors and gaudy jewelry! Dressed up or not-all are welcome and you will have a wonderful time!

What is a VIP Table?

This is a chance to buy yourself a prime seat in the Mardi Gras Ballroom. Purchase a table with 8 seats for only $400. This purchase is much more than just a seat! Each VIP table will have table drink service, a delicious homemade dessert, exclusive appetizer assortment and an entry into a VIP Raffle where you will have a one in 40 chance of taking home a prize. Catholic Schools Week

Feed My STarving Children Service Project:

This year's service project was pre-preparing meals for families in need at Feed My Starving Children. On Monday and Tuesday the Middle School and 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Students spent the morning at the FMSC center making enough meals to feed over 50 families for a whole year! Great job students!

Tuesday: Wear a hat day was an veritable explosion of fun and silly hats!

Later that day there was Lightening Basketball - student winners were Joe Gibbs and David Everson and the teacher contest winners were Maddy McCabe and Shane Hoben.

D.E.A.R. Drop Everything And Read - On Tuesday the Middle School Students dropped everything and spent some time reading to the Preschool, Prekindergarten and Kindergarten classes.

Wednesday: Students really let all hair hang out on Wednesday with crazy styles and radical bedheads!

The afternoon saw the whole school in the Gym and Cafeteria for the Talent Show and Eagles Bingo!

D.A.R.E.

The 5th Grade students had their D.A.R.E. ceremony on Wednesday. Parents, family and staff attended beaming with pride as the 5th graders received their certificates. Fantastic job 5th Graders!

Thursday: During the day was Spirit Day, students had the chance to go buy items from the spirit shop at the concession stand, wear OLP colors and show tons of pride in their school!

In the evening families were invited back for dinner, the science fair, and talent show! Stories were circulating later on the many first rate acts put on by the students during the talent show! Fantabulous job students!!!

Friday: Field Trips!

The school was super quiet on Friday when the middle school students went to Afton Alps for skiing, the elementary students went roller skating at Roller Garden, the PreKindergarten class went to Sea Life at MOA and the Preschool class went on a book hunt! Picture below are the preschoolers on their trip to science class!

Book Fair

 Rousing Success!!
The Book Fair was a phenomenal success this year! Students had lots of favorites: The Pig Kahuna, Froggy Goes to Hawaii, Glory B., and Hunger Games. Non book related favorite was definitely the invisible ink pen! Watch out for hidden messages appearing in your home!

Look for new books coming home during the next quarter! Thanks for all your support!

Whate'er I do, things great or small
Whate'er I do, things great or small
Whate'er I speak or frame.
Thy glory may I seek in all,
Do all in Jesus' name.

My Father, for His sake I pray.
Thy child accept and bless
And lead me by Thy grace to-day
In paths of righteousness. Amen.
