Our Students are Getting Ready for Christmas

The students at OLP, largely led by the Middle School, are preparing for Christmas in many ways. By giving gifts, celebrating Advent traditions, and studying how Christmas is celebrated worldwide, students are making it a great Christmas season. Read more.
Lessons and Carols

December 15, 2011
6:30 in the church

Lessons and Carols is a festive service of scripture readings and Advent and Christmas carols that displays the talents of our school students. The service began in England, and is widely used all over the world during Advent and Christmas time. Some of the carols are sung by the students alone, and some by everyone gathered. The Advent and Christmas story in its entirety is told through scripture readings, read by the students. The program will last about an hour. Everyone, students and assembly alike, are invited and encouraged to raise their voices in the beautiful music of the Advent and Christmas seasons. Join us!

Our Lady of Peace Christmas Card
Christmas Card

It is the season of sending holiday cards and we have been delighted to receive a handful of cards in the mail with great photos of our parishioners. We would like to put together a holiday slideshow of your Christmas cards. If you have an electronic copy of your Christmas card, simply upload it here  and we will include it in a special Our Lady of Peace slideshow of Christmas cards.
Reminder About Year End Giving

The end of the year is near and the ministries of Our Lady of Peace have been abundantly blessed by your generous offerings. Per instructions from the diocese and Internal Revenue Service here is important information for everyone to remember:

  • All contributions received on Saturday, December 31 at Mass or postmarked by December 31 will be applied to 2011 contributions.
  • All contributions received on Sunday, January 1 at Mass will be applied to 2012 contributions.

In order for your contribution to be included in the 2011 tax year, we must have your contribution in the Administration Office on or before the close of business at Noon on December 30, 2011 or postmarked by December 31 (Our offices will be closed on December 31, 2011). Checks received or postmarked after December 31 will be recorded as part of your 2012 contributions regardless of the actual date written on check (again - per IRS instructions).

The transfer process for donations of stock takes more time. Please plan accordingly to complete those transfers before year's end.
