Parent's Night Out!
The youth of the 2012 Our Lady of Peace Mission Trip are offering parents a night out while children ages four to twelve hang out at Our Lady of Peace. It is simple. Parents can drop kids off at 6:00 pm and go do some Christmas shopping or have a nice dinner while the kids have a blast at Our Lady of Peace playing games, watching movies, learning crafts and playing with friends. The cost is $20 per child with all proceeds going toward the 2012 Mission Trip to Billings, Montana and Catholic Heart Workcamp. Get all the details on the night out at www.olpmn.org/nightout and register online. Registration must be completed by December 13 and the program is open to 30 children.

Our Lady of Peace Christmas Card
It is the season of sending holiday cards and we have been delighted to receive a handful of cards in the mail with great photos of our parishioners. We would like to put together a holiday slideshow of your Christmas cards. If you have an electronic copy of your Christmas card, simply upload it here and we will include it in a special Our Lady of Peace slideshow of Christmas cards. |
Reminder About Year End Giving
The end of the year is near and the ministries of Our Lady of Peace have been abundantly blessed by your generous offerings. Per instructions from the diocese and Internal Revenue Service here is important information for everyone to remember: - All contributions received on Saturday, December 31 at Mass or postmarked by December 31 will be applied to 2011 contributions.
- All contributions received on Sunday, January 1 at Mass will be applied to 2012 contributions.
In order for your contribution to be included in the 2011 tax year, we must have your contribution in the Administration Office on or before the close of business at Noon on December 30, 2011 (Our offices will be closed on December 31, 2011). Checks received after December 31 will be recorded as part of your 2012 contributions regardless of the actual date written on check (again - per IRS instructions). The transfer process for donations of stock takes more time. Please plan accordingly to complete those transfers before year's end. |
Thinking About Sponsoring a Child? There is still time for parishioners and their families to sponsor a child at one of the nine Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos homes. Simply take an ornament from one of the Christmas trees at the north or south entrances of the church, fill out the form and return it in the collection basket or to Friends of the Orphans.
Still on the fence about making the commitment? Come meet a child who has benefited from sponsorship. Come to Pates Hall after Mass on December 18 and meet Maria Stephanie Gutierrez Canales a resident of the Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos home in Nicaragua. Read more about Maria's story. |
