The University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Coast Research Lab received a new boat donated by Jimmy Buffett and his sisters, Lucy "Lulu" Buffett and Laurie Buffett-McGuane. The 33 footer will be used to educate school children about the importance of the Gulf. The vessel will be converted to run on waste vegetable oil, which will be obtained from Lucy's "Lulu's" restaurant in Gulf Shores, AL, and the new Margaritaville in Biloxi.
The boat was christened the Miss Peetsy B, in honor of the Buffett's mom, Mary Lorraine Peets Buffett. And of course, the usual champagne was replaced with Land Shark Lager.
Speaking of Jimmy Buffett - Are you a fan of Radio Margaritaville see our story on Coleman Sisson, general manager of Jimmy Buffett's Radio Margaritaville here
