We have been buying some very unique and unusual logs this spring. While Basswood, Tilia Americana, is known for growing quite large, the log above is enormous! Basswood trees usually have 2 or more trunks and old stumps that will resprout with clumps of several other trees. Since Basswood machines, nails, glues and finishes well, the slabs that come from this log should be ideal for making unique pieces of furniture.
