Welcome!
Dear Neighbors,
I hope this note find you in the midst of a wonderful summer season. Enjoy each season for what it has to offer. The highlights in our region this time of year include the Farmers' Markets -- two great ones are located on Richie Highway, in Severna Park, and an even larger one at Truman Parkway, in Annapolis. We have entered the peak of the local growing season and the fruits and vegetables are superb.
If you haven't checked out the happenings in Annapolis lately, do so. The list of fun and cultural events keeps growing.
Despite the heat, it also looks like more people are getting out and walking, running, and bike riding in the neighborhood. That is fantastic! Keep safety in mind, always, and kudos to those who are wearing reflective clothes or vests.
I am receiving a collection of voice and e-mail messages regarding those walking with their furry friends. As a reminder, taking responsibility for walking our pets in residential areas includes cleaning up after your pet relieves himself and not allowing him to run onto lawns and private property to do their 'business'. The complaints have included having to clean up after the messes and dead spots in lawns from animal urination. Let's be courteous and think about all our neighbors.
The August BHCA Board meeting focuses on putting the final touches on the 2012 annual budget. If you have ideas and/or want to participate, put Tuesday August 2 on your calendar. The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at the Providence Center. All are welcome! If you can't make it and have a fantastic idea or a burning issue, zip me or any/all board members an e-mail.
Sincerely,
Jeff Burkhart
BHCA President

Calling All Kids! Slide, Swing, Climb, Crawl Bay Hills Playground Gets a Facelift
The new Bay Hills playground has something for kids of all ages. Installed in late June, the new equipment was designed for two age groups and includes slides, monkey bars, a fireman's pole, a tree house, and much more.
Younger children will find safe, age-appropriate entertainment, while older kids will find more challenging play areas. The swings and volleyball court remain, so bring the whole family and utilize this wonderful, updated area near the pavilion and pool.

Please use proper safety precautions when utilizing the playground equipment. Younger children must be supervised by an adult. And please help us keep the playground beautiful for years to come -- pick up your trash, and report any issues to Board Member Michael Pecknay, 410-757-8737, mpecknay@verizon.net. |
