The Impact of Hope: Strengthening Your Ministry to "The Least of These"
Do you volunteer in food distribution to the poor, either here or overseas, maybe Habitat for Humanity or rebuilding the gulf coast? Impact of Hope is about equipping you and your team to more effectively reach and minister to the poor both near and far. It's about taking the message of the love of Christ beyond your four walls to those who desperately need hope.
Children International, based here in Kansas City, is sponsoring this outreach conference. Please consider taking advantage of this opportunity.
Saturday, March 24, 2012
8:00 AM to 3:30 PM (CT)
Kansas City, MO

Volunteer Drivers Needed
Would you, or someone you know, volunteer to drive active older adults 65+ in the Belton / Raymore area? We are working with Jewish Family Services and other area churches, to bring JET EXPRESS Transportation to northern Cass County. However, before we can offer rides, we need a pool of about six trained drivers. This program gives older adults access to afordable, safe transportation. More than that, it gives independence, community connection, and dignity!!
Giving rides can be an incredibly rewarding way to help someone, whether it's a one-time one-way trip to the doctor, a weekly round-trip ride to the hairdresser, or an occasional ride to visit a friend or perhaps do some shopping. It all makes a difference. The drivers control if or when they are available to take a rider by reviewing the list of ride requests, and deciding which one(s) will work with their schedule.
Please, prayerfully consider giving your time a few evenings, a few hours on the weekend, or during the week.
Getting started is easy!! Drivers must:
- Be at least 21 years
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Have current auto insurance coverage
- Have their own vehicle to use
There is more information on the table in the narthex, or contact Arnetta (Arni) Johnston at 816-331-7015 or arni@marymag.com.

The Music Team CDs Are Here!
Jennifer Coleman, Ian Coleman, or Karen Hansen will be available after the 10:30 a.m. worship service on any Sunday, and the CD "My Light, My Strength, My Song" is available for a suggested donation of $15.00. All funds from the donations, beyond covering the costs of production, will go to the food programs for the needy at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in downtown KC. |

The Opportunity of a Lifetime
On April 28, 2012, thirty or more people from West Missouri will join Bishop Marty Field and his wife, Donna, for the trip of a lifetime. They will journey to the southern parts of Africa for 13 days of unforgettable sights and inspiring sharing. The itinerary for the trip calls for stops in South Africa, Tanzania, and especially our companion diocese of Botswana. Participants will meet our companions in faith, learn of their culture and faith, and see the work being made possible now and in the future by our companion relationship. They'll also visit some of the most breathtaking scenery and wildlife offered in the southern parts of Africa. Plus, this is a wonderful chance to get to know Bishop Marty and Donna.
Those interested in this opportunity - a true once-in-a-lifetime occasion - should consult the additional information and registration materials offered on our website and follow through a.s.a.p. The deadline is short: February 14, 2012 for payments to be received . Call if you need more info: 816-471-6161.
