Nathan Aleander.
"Let it Shine." | Latest Press |
Nathan Alexander is a singer songwriter and musician. After college and Uni he set about extablishing himself as a serious artist by gigging, playing festivals and clubs. Nathan feel he is at his best as a solo artist after being in several bands and doing the usual things, such as battle of the bands, festivels and pubs. Being a self-motivated individual he found it hard going expecting the same level of enthusiasm for members of the bands. Nathan plays regularly at the Grapes in Stafford, Staffordshire, where he's got a very strong following. Check him out if you are in the area.
Join his fan club on www.octaviarecords.com and get regular update, you maybe lucky to be an invited guest at one of his gigs.

  Octavia Welcomes 2012
I have to say we are rearing to get going. Just Like the athletics, who have being in training for London 2012 Olympics. Octavia have been preparing for this year also. We are launching Jon Scott debut single "People Like Us," More sheet music from Michael Alexander and new recording from Nathan Alexander.
And both Nathan and Scott will be gigging around the country at festivals and Clubs, personal appearances and concerts. We are also working with new artists, bring then to the "Octavia's Stable. We sure hope you can join us, this year and make it an "Octavia's 2012."
Setting up the companies and building our new website. Or should I say websites has being quite something. Trying to build a company that is not like what's already out there, took longer then we had expected, but the excitement of creating such a company is still very much alive and very exciting. And because it was different, we had to start from scratch and design and construct everything. Why re-invent the wheel you may say? Well for adventure? No! thats not the case. We felt it was necessary to try and look at the music industry in a different light. I hope we have captured that new way concept, in what we have done so far. |
Upcoming Gigs |
Events are being organised and when definate dates are agreed, we will publish it in this column. So Keep watching this space.

OO | Octavia Records | This Month's artist is Jon Scott. I have been in the studio with Jon Scott remixing some songs, primerily to see if we can work together. Which is very important to me as too many times, the talent is there, but you can't get to develop it because there is not a working relationship with artist and company. But I have to say, it is a whole lot of fun working with Jon. His talent shines through when things are at a critical stage and you feel he is working with you for the greater good and not trying the one upmanship thing. We are about to bring out his single song CD call "People Like Us." to give you a taste of Jon Scott and then follow up with an album. It would also be available as download on www.octaviarecords.com |
 | Octavia Music Publishing |
Since launching the company we have published 5 songs as Sheet Music by Michael Alexander, available as pdf files download, with a whole lot more to come. 1. Six Sense; 2. If my love mean anything to you; 3. If I promise; 4. There I've said it; 5. To be happy. It will soon be made possible to play, transposed, change instrument and key on the website before downloading and printing your copy. We are working with Sibelius to achieve that, so do keep looking out for that. In the mean time it's available as PDF download. |
TTTt | The Future of Music. |
The record companies used to take a bashing from every quater of society, but you have to agree they served a purpose. They invested in the artists and distribution, promotion and feed the media with interesting charectors. With their hold on the industry somewhat demised, there is little or no investment in the industry, in any case not at the level it was in the 1900. The promise of the new technology seem somewhat disappointing. I believe strongly that, had the music industry got behind and be the driving force of the new technology that matter to the industry, there would be greater success for those who want to make music as their career. As it is, the industry is relying on bringing back all the artist of the 1900 to scrape a living. My chance meeting with the cultural minister gave me less hope that a change is coming soon.
