Upcoming Holiday Events
 | | The official start of the Town's holiday season is Dec. 1 |
Come celebrate the official start of the holiday season in Fuquay-Varina at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 1 from 6:00-8:30 pm in the municipal parking lot located at E. Vance and Main Streets. For more than two decades, citizens have gathered on the first Thursday in December to welcome the season and over the years, the festivities have grown significantly. The Town, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Revitalization, currently host a parade to welcome Santa, free Sleigh Rides, a Christmas recital, and a concert featuring Transit Vocal Band and the Gerald Parker Jazz Band. For the first time ever, the Town of Fuquay-Varina and STARS Theater will present a community theater event, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. You won't want to miss a single minute of the holiday cheer!
Make sure to check out the full holiday calendar of events. |

Fuquay-Varina shines |
Making downtown Fuquay-Varina shine for the winter holidays is the responsibility of the Parks and Recreation Department. On November 7, the Maintenance Team for the Parks and Recreation department began turning the municipal parking lot on the corner of E. Vance and Main Streets into a winter wonderland. "It takes about a week to get the lights up and the team will make adjustments up until the day of the tree lighting which is scheduled for December 1st," said Tony Smith, Parks Maintenance Supervisor. "Thousands of lights go into the downtown display with more than 100 strands of lights going into the 17 foot centerpiece tree which is shipped from the mountains of North Carolina."
If you're unable to attend this year's Christmas Tree Lighting, take a moment to enjoy Fuquay-Varina's holiday decorations. |
