Your Help Will Make FOODFIGHT a Success! The fourth annual FOODFIGHT is almost here! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 20, when a great collection of restaurants will come together to fight hunger.
Each participating restaurant will dedicate a portion of that day's sales to feeding people in need. Guests choose a participating restaurant to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner (coffee breaks, happy hours & late night eats count, too!), knowing that 5 percent of the check will benefit Operation Feed. Restaurants on board include Betty's, Barcelona, Bob Evans, Katzinger's, Refectory & more. Visit FoodFightHunger.org for a complete, up-to-date list. Last year's FOODFIGHT was a great success, raising about 51,000 meals in just one day. To make FOODFIGHT 2012 even bigger, we need your help!
Here's how you can support FOODFIGHT:- Print a poster to hang in the office.
- Invite friends & family on Facebook.
- Round up a group for an "eat out to fight hunger" excursion - a business breakfast or lunch with coworkers, happy hour with friends, dinner with family, or any other winning combination.
- Host your own office competition for who can be the biggest FOODFIGHTER (eat at the most restaurants or bank the biggest donation)!
- Bring the FOODFIGHT inside the office, by ordering food from a participating restaurant during your work day on June 20.
- Other creative ideas? Share them with us!
We appreciate your support of this community-wide Operation Feed initiative. Stay tuned for event updates!

RECIPE FOR SUCCESS: Cardinal Health When a campaign grows from two participating departmental teams to seventeen, you can expect a growth in results. However the folks at Cardinal Health blew us away with their 197 percent increase in results from last year!
Between April 15th and 20th, the seventeen teams participating in Cardinal's 2012 drive were encouraged to bring in food items each day, with extra points awarded to the items that were the "food of the day." The food was collected daily and after all donations were compiled, the company matched it 50 percent. The campaign added extra emphasis to Cardinal's National Volunteer Week, and raised 5,058 lbs of food and $5,900!
Thanks, Cardinal Health, for your fantastic campaign and continued support in the fight against hunger!

Thanks to Letter Carriers, Volunteers for Another Great "Stamp Out Hunger" Operation Feed would like to extend a special thank you to all letter carriers and Nationwide Insurance volunteers who helped make the 20th annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive a success! On May 12, residents placed bags of non-perishable food items near their mailboxes, and letter carriers nationwide delivered donations to local food banks. Volunteers then sorted and repacked donations for distribution to food pantries.
Hosted by the National Association of Letter Carriers, it is the largest one-day food drive in the nation and has nationally raised more than 1 billion lbs of food since its inception in 1991. And this year, we are proud to say that 70,730 lbs of food and more than $1,300 was collected for Mid-Ohio Foodbank, making a grand total of more than 75,000 meals! This community initiative is made possible by the generosity of letter carriers, volunteers, and thousands of individual donors. When everyone does a little, the Foodbank can do a lot! |
It's Time to Post Your Photo Contest Entries! Show how you "Rally to Tally" in the fight against hunger by entering your organization in the Operation Feed photo contest. Capture photos of campaign planning & meal-raising activities and post them (with a caption that includes the name of your organization and "Operation Feed") to the Foodbank's Facebook wall. Fans (your associates included, of course!) will have the opportunity to "like" their favorites, and photos with the most "likes" will be chosen as finalists. The winner will be determined by applause-o-meter at our Campaign Finale event and will be used in Operation Feed 2013 marketing & materials. Start posting now! We already have some great entries (check them out here). For complete details, see our Photo Contest Guidelines. |
Campaign Wrap-Up: Share Your Results
We're entering into the home stretch of Operation Feed 2012, and we'd love to know how your campaign activities are going! As you wrap up your drives and events, share your results online using our Final Reporting Form. The Meals Tracking Log will help you record food & funds, and be sure that a Food Drive Contribution Form or Monetary Contribution Form accompanies each donation submitted. This helps ensure that all donations are properly credited back to your organization.
Please mail checks and money orders directly to the Operation Feed lockbox for processing rather than bringing them to the Foodbank. Cash and Coin Processing Resources can convert monies collected, free of charge. Visit the Campaign Coordinator Resources page for these and additional resources you might need to help finish your drive. You can also check out Wrapping Up - 4 Easy Steps, or contact any Operation Feed team member with any further questions. Thanks for your support!
