New Watercolor Course at ARThouse this Fall:
"Painting People Working"
I have often felt that one of the most worthwhile things to paint is images of people working. People going about their work with intensity and feeling. Or people pausing from their work to reflect on a thought that has captured their attention. Or people simply going to work. There are many possibilities for making thoughtful, interesting pictures. Below is a sample of a painting I did several years ago, of my father-in-law, Lorenzo Colombini, who worked all his life as a tool-and-dye maker, and is shown here, fixing something in his basement.

So this fall, we will paint people working. I am introducing a new course that will meet every other week for five sessions from Sept. 18 - Nov. 7. The course is geared for people who have had some experience with watercolor, not outright beginners.
To find out more about the course, visit my website at Class on Painting People Working. Because I always let my existing students sign up first, there is limited space in this class. But there is an online version with plenty of openings! I encourage you to check it out. If you would like to be notified of future classes, please email me at susan@susanavismurphy.com and I will add you to the prospective student list.
We will be sending you periodic updates about this class in this newsletter--stay tuned!
