The Rancho Santa Fe Foundation is celebrating...30 years of promoting effective philanthropy and YOU made it happen!  Through your donor advised funds, you have supported thousands of different nonprofits over the years--regionally, nationally, and globally!

In recognition of your support for 30 years,  30 of your favorite San Diego area nonprofits have each received a $1,000 challenge grant.  In return, their challenge is to raise an additional $29,000.    We invite you to be a part of the "30 for 30" challenge.  $30,000 for 30 nonprofits...$900,000 if everyone meets their goal!  Are you in?

There is no minimum donation, although $500 or more is suggested, and you may specify how your donation will be used by the grantees.  Checks may be sent to the organizations directly  specify "30 for 30" in the memo line) or you may make the grants from your donor advised fund.

Grantees meeting the challenge will be recognized at our 30th Anniversary celebration on October 20, 2011.  Our goal is to acknowledge all "30 for 30" organizations and celebrate nearly a million dollars in your philanthropy to support the San Diego region.

Thank you for your generosity in addressing the needs of our region and beyond.

The Armed Forces Interest Group (AFIG) presents $121,000 to the Navy SEALs Foundation.  L to R:  Greg Hillgren, CAPT John McTighe, Ron McMahon (Chairman Elect), Chuck Yash (Chairman) and the SEALs.

Following an ancient Scottish tradition, a bagpiper walked up the 18th fairway at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club towards the first tee, welcoming a group of very important people to the club.

Thirty-two Navy SEALs were invited to play golf with donors who had each contributed $10,000 to the Navy SEALs Foundation.   Brothers Brad and Greg Hillgren hosted the event. Together they have formed The Endowment Leadership Group, an informal exclusive "confederation" of committed business, professional and community leaders that will make themselves available to support the Navy SEALs Foundation. The Endowment Leadership Group has committed to create, and "lead by doing," the best model for how the private sector can aid and support the 100% volunteer military by providing talent, connections and influence. The group hopes to give all of "our guys" insights and opportunities for career transition when they retire.

Captain John McTighe said it all, "The entire day was just incredible. And, the fact that it was FOR our guys was really special. They have never seen that before...none of 'em." The Endowment Leadership Group is hoping to attract other donors to this effort through the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation's Armed Forces Interest Group (AFIG).
