Wow! Words cannot express my appreciation to all of our families who contributed in any way to our 2012 Black & Red Bash. As always, the outpouring of support from our families was phenomenal. Those who could give gave generously, and those who could serve served diligently. Whether you donated an item, sold your car tickets, solicited items, helped with a class project, invited guests or were a valued sponsor, each of you played an important role in making the event a success. Thank you. With your help we raised over $100,000. I was also astounded at the support from our community and beyond. You will find a list of sponsors and business donors in the left hand column. I pray that you will take a good look at the area businesses that made donations and support them as they have supported us. I especially want to thank the Praise Team for entertaining us and leading us in worship, and all of the students who helped the night of the Gala. They were incredible! Their help was invaluable in making the evening run smoothly. Finally, I would like to thank our amazing Gala Committee and those who stayed to help clean up. They worked long days and late nights to make sure the evening was a success.

Praise God in Your Storm
With the devastation of the April 3 tornadoes still fresh in our minds, many of us ask the question "Why did you allow this tragedy to occur, Lord? The events in the book of Job remind us that calamities happen without warning. Job lost everything - his family, possessions, and even his health. What did Job do through these series of tragic events? He praised God! ...he fell to the ground in worship and said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD as taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised. (Job 1:20-22)
It's easy to praise God when life is going great. "Praise you God for a new job or a new house." But do we ever praise Him through life's storms? Job did. Even though we face troubles in this life, remember that God will go with you through the storms. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world! (John 16:33). Find a way to praise our Lord even in the bad times. Thank God for something today.
