The Pamen Volleyball Camp has sold out for the past 3 years.  Registration is Now Open for this popular camp.  The camp is for boys and girls, 8 - 14 years old.  Players are given the chance to play both indoor hard court volleyball and outdoor beach volleyball at our one-stop volleyball destination: David Leeder Middle School.  We are again offering four 1-week camps during the month of July.  Players can choose between half day and full day camps.

Attention High School Volleyball Players  18U boy
Question:  How can you improve your indoor game by one full year in only two months?
Answer: Play beach volleyball twice a week this summer.  You will get more 'touches' playing beach for two months than you do playing indoor for a full season.  We strongly recommend the monthly beach clinic, twice per week, 3 - 5 pm session (tends to all be high school students).  If you are really keen, register for the three times per week option.

Team Passing
Too often after a passer indentifies the oncoming ball as his/her ball to pass, teammates become passive participants and merely stand and watch the efforts of the passer.
Instead, the passing teammates should turn inward slightly facing their passer and move with him or her, ready to take over if the ball changes direction and/or assist to better the ball, if the ball is shanked.
Terrel's Pointers
Pakmen legend and current Humber Hawk player Terrel Bramwell sends us a series of tips he is working on training as a member of Team Canada. Here's the first tip of the month:

International Blocking
At the international level, we are taught to always block line on the outside and press the block as much as you can forcing the hitter to hit into the defense.  Defensive players in 1 and 5 start further back than the 't' because all outside balls are hit deep, within a meter of the end line.  Anyone trying to hit straight down would be blocked immediately.

Wayne Wilkins

Wayne Wilkens is one of our most popular and knowledgeable coaches.  He coaches our 16U boys team and is the head coach of the provincial champion Humber College Mens Team for over 15 years. Wilkins was a Humber Hawk player from 1990 to 1994. He was CCAA Coach of the Year in 2004/2005, OCAA Coach

Former Pakmen legend and National Team player Terrel Bramwell plays for Wayne as a Humber Hawk at Humber College.

"
Wayne Is a great coach with a passion for the game, he understands the roles and each individual player which allows him to fit the different pieces of the puzzle in order to be successful", says Bramwell. "He also stresses being accountable as people to bringing 100% of your focus to the court when you step through the gym as it allows you to work on professionalism and determination for whatever goal you wish to accomplish in life."

Former Pakmen great and Humber Hawk Derek Quinn receives training from Wilkins.

"I feel Wayne is an amazing coach because of his ability to connect with the players," says all-star setter Quinn, "He was a Humber Hawk before the players now and because of this, he bring a lot of passion to both practices and games. One of my favourite quotes from Wayne is 'It will never be the best six on my starting line up...it will always be the six guys who work the best together.'"
