Pakmen 15U Boys Win Gold in Stratford

The Pakmen 15U Boys Volleyball team was one of 10 squads who had their eyes set on gold at the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) Provincial Cup in Stratford Saturday (December 6th, 2009). A surging Interclub team from Toronto advanced to the finals as the number seven seed, but the Pakmen wouldn't allow the upset as the Mississauga boys won 2-1 (25-18, 22-25,15-11) to clinch the provincial title. Pakmen 14U Boys Spike Rapids
The Mississauga Pakmen under-14 boys volleyball team captured a recent tournament after beating a team from Niagara in the finals. The Pakmen won the Ontario Volleyball Association's McGregor Cup tournament, held over the weekend (Jan. 8-9) in Guelph despite losing the first set of the championship match. The team won the tourney after beating the Niagara Rapids 2-1 (18-25, 25-21, 15-13).

Pakmen 13U Girls Win Another Bronze at MacGregor Cup
Etobicoke ON - The 13U Pakmen Girls team made the short trip to the MacGregor Cup on January 23, 2010. Playing against many of the same teams, the team played excellent volleyball easily defeating teams and advancing to the semi-finals. After losing two close sets (25-20, 27-25) the girls rallied to defeat Toronto West for the Bronze. The atmosphere at the tournaments is wonderful as we received compliment after compliment about our improved play. The girls are continuing to work hard as we set the goal of GOLD at our next tournament on Feb. 13. |
Pakmen 15U Boys Spike Durham For Volleyball Crown
The Mississauga NewsThe Mississauga Pakmen boys' under-15 volleyball team won an Ontario Volleyball Association tournament held this past Saturday (Jan 16, 2010) in Bradford. The team won the McGregor Cup tournament's premier division championship by beating Durham Attack in two sets (25-22, 25-21). Click here to read more |
Pakmen 13U Girls Win Bronze at Provincial Cup
Cambridge ON - On December 12, the 13U Girls team, coached by Joe Grdisa, competed in their first OVA tournament, the Provincial Cup. All ten players had never competed in rep volleyball before and were apprehensive. After two easy wins, the team went out to a dominant start against Toronto West winning 25-18 only to lose the third set. They went on to lose in the semi finals in a close match against the eventual champions. The team went on to win the Bronze medal easily defeating the Burlington Blaze. The team is aggressive at the net blocking spikes, tips and over bumps regularly. Many of the girls are begininng to play more confidently on the court. "We had a chance to win, but either way, we left feeling great and we know what we need to work on to improve." The team is a hardworking group who are having fun and improving at a quick pace.
