MHS Theatre & Choir Students Present FOOTLOOSE: Musical

The program will be performed January 21-23 at 7pm and Sunday, January 24 at 2pm in the MHS Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and are now available online at www.seatyourself.biz/mhs. There is a 75 cent surcharge for online purchases. Tickets will be available next week in the Theatre room (411) or at the box office on the night of the show. Come out and have a great time at FOOTLOOSE!

Special Education Transition Expo Resource Night
for Parents


Parents, students, families, caregivers, and professionals involved in the lives of students with disabilities are encouraged to attend the free expo night Thursday, February 25 from 6-7:30pm in the MHS Cafeteria.

Superintendent Search Process

MISD has a contract with Horn, Smith, Wood & Preston, a superintendent search firm, to assist us in locating our next superintendent of schools.  On December 14, a proposed calendar was set detailing the information for Board members in regard to proceeding with the superintendent search. (Dates are subject to change.)
  • Dec. 17  Board set qualifications for superintendent candidates
  • Dec. 18  March 8 Solicitation and recruitment of candidate
  • Jan. 18  Profile meetings with teachers, administrators and     community
  • March 8  Deadline for accepting applications
  • March 22  Presentation of candidates to board
  • March 29 - April 2 Interview candidates
  • April 2  Name a Lone Finalist
  • April 26  Announce new superintendent
  • June 1, 2010  New superintendent begins
Community Input for New Superintendent
The Midlothian ISD Board of Trustees appreciates community input to assist with developing a profile to determine the most important characteristics in a new superintendent. Community members can share their input on Monday, January 18 at 6:30pm in the boardroom located at the MISD Administration Bldg.

"Love and Logic" program begins at Irvin

Love and Logic is a common-sense approach that provides educators and parents easy-to-learn skills that create respect, responsibility and good decision-making in youth.


The free MISD parent seminar is based on the principles of Love and Logic. Classes will be from 7-9pm on January 11, 25; February 1, 8, 15, 22 at J.R. Irvin Elementary School. Contact Elizabeth Adkins, Irvin Counselor at 972-775-8239 for questions. *Free Childcare.
