September Highlights

September 11, 2012
National Day of Service and Remembrance
The September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance originally launched in 2002 by the 9/11 nonprofit MyGoodDeed with wide support by the 9/11 community and leading national service organizations. In 2009, Congress designated September 11th as a National Day of Service and Remembrance under bipartisan federal law, and charged the Corporation for National and Community Service with helping to support this effort across the country. For the anniversary, CNCS is working with MyGoodDeed and numerous other organizations to implement one of the largest days of charitable service in U.S. history.

September is Healthy Aging® Month
Healthy Aging® Month was created to focus national attention on the positive aspects of growing older. The main objective is to encourage events that promote taking personal responsibility for one's health. Browse the Healthy Aging website and become inspired! From the Healthy Aging Magazine to brochures and other resources, this website is there to inspire us to be healthy be it physically, socially, mentally and financially.

September 2012 - Contest ends 9-15-12!
Caregiver Cruise Contest 2012
from Home Instead Senior Care

The Home Instead Senior Care® network recognizes the dedication and hard work required to provide care for a loved one, and we also understand how stressful caregiving can be. That's why Home Instead, Inc., franchisor of the Home Instead Senior Care franchise network, is giving away a free, six-day Caribbean cruise to one lucky caregiver and guest.

September 2012 - Content ends September 30, 2012!
Handyman Matters Great American Makeover
Need remodeling or repairs around the house? It is not too late to schedule those repairs and then you are automatically entered in the 'Great American Makeover' for every 4 hour job you schedule with Handyman Matters. You could win one of three great home remodeling prizes!

As a reminder we are all about
sharing and learning about senior resources and aging issues through the Internet and ultimately connecting older consumers and their families with the resources and service providers they need so they can age well. Surfing the Internet to research is great but remember to use the tried and true technique of picking up the phone and calling. And if your search involved the SeniorsResourceGuide.com network of websites please let the provider or organization know that. Have a nice day!
