LACHSA
October 3rd, 2011
Greetings!

As a leader in supporting the arts in Los Angeles, we can think of no better partner than you for our annual LACHSA Walk for the Arts 2011, a fundraising event that is designed to build critical awareness for the vital importance of the arts while supporting the stellar arts education programs at LACHSA, the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.

We would be honored if you would accept the role as a Grand Marshalls during our second annual LACHSA Walk for the Arts 2011walk-a-thon on Friday, October 21 at 10:30 a.m.

Despite its recognition as one of the most outstanding visual and performing arts high schools in the nation, LACHSA like every public school in California, is facing severe budget cuts.  In the case of LACHSA, this action is seriously impacting the arts programming at our school - a heartbreaking concern when you realize the effect it will have on our students - among the country's most promising emerging artists, highly gifted in the Visual Arts, Theatre, Dance, and Music.  Your support as a Walk for the Arts Grand Marshall would help to affirm the monumental impact that arts education has on the future of the arts.

As one of the Walk for the Arts Grand Marshalls, you will lead the Walk, comprised of 600 highly gifted students of LACHSA - as well as faculty, administration, and parents - as they walk the campus of California State, Los Angeles where LACHSA is located.  Your participation will be prominently mentioned in all press materials distributed to the media as well as in communications sent to the LACHSA community of parents, donors, and friends.

I hope you will join us for this profoundly rewarding event in a show of support for LACHSA and Los Angeles' next generation of artists.  I will follow up shortly to determine your availability.

Sincerely,
