Greetings!
We are contacting you because the film department's annual film festival, MoonDance, is coming up! We're proud to announce that this year's festival will take place on Saturday, May 21st at the WGA Theatre in Beverly Hills! For those of you that don't know, MoonDance is our department's premiere event, and we need your help to make it an amazing night for our students. Here are a few specific things that we need your assistance with:
1. RAFFLE ITEM DONATION - we will be having a raffle to raise money for the department and we need items for the gift baskets. Here's what we're looking for: - Gift Cards (iTunes, movie theatres, Best Buy, Samy's Camera, etc. - any gift card is great, but something entertainment related would be ideal)
- DVDs (anything you're willing to give us!)
- Movie theatre tickets
- Any other movie/film/entertainment related item that you think would be appropriate
- Cash (we can include a cash prize with the gift baskets)
Please contact me if you plan on making a raffle item donation. All donations must be turned in to Madison in the Film Office (FA348) by Friday, May 6th at the latest (sooner would be better).
2. CELEBRITY PRESENTERS - every year we invite industry professionals to present awards at MoonDance. It's always fun for the kids and the presenters are usually very impressed by the student films (although they don't have to stay for the films if they don't want to). We need presenters (hopefully with some recognizable credits) to present awards for acting, editing, cinematography, screenwriting, and directing. Please reply to this email if you know anyone that might be interested.
3. LIMO RENTAL - does anyone have a contact for limousine rental? We're looking to rent a limo for a few hours on Saturday, May 21st. Every place I've contacted has given me a quote for over $1000 and a minimum of 10 hours because it's on a Saturday in the height of prom season. We're trying to put together a special surprise, but we can't afford anything over a couple hundred dollars. Please reply to this email if you, or someone you know, can help make this happen. We need to coordinate this ASAP, so any information would be greatly appreciated.
We greatly appreciate any kind of support you are willing to offer. We love teaching your kids and we can't wait to showcase their work at the MoonDance film festival!
