Although the entire school community will not attend the ceremony--for various logistical considerations--it promises to be noteworthy nonetheless.

Alex Cameron ('11), Associated Student Body (ASB) president will serve as the emcee for this event. Wesley Moran ('11) will perform the national anthem and Dallas J. Howard ('11) will conduct the LACHSA premiere of his Fanfare for LACHSA Groundbreaking, an original composition for brass ensemble and timpani dedicated to this event.
Additionally, our leadership students will be present to fulfill their duties as LACHSA's official student ambassadors. The entire sophomore class, the Class of 2013, will also attend as they will be the senior class when we enter the new building.
The LACHSA Groundbreaking Ceremony will receive significant attention and will include two Los Angeles County Supervisors, Michael D. Antonovich and Zev Yaroslakvsky, long-time LACHSA champion CSULA President James Rosser, interim superintendent Jon R. Gundry, and a host of other dignitaries, supporters, and guests.
Marcia Hobbs, President of the Board of Trustees for the Arts High Foundation will herald some very exciting features of the new building and LACHSA Parent Council President, Michelle Higgs will represent our parent community as partners central to our work.
For those who do not attend, our film department will capture every glittering moment for broadcast on our website and beyond. I invite you to view the architects final renderings. Check them out here!
Our Groundbreaking Ceremony will be a celebration of the pageantry and ritual of ceremony not merely to recognize the dawning of a new era, but also to honor the triumph of LACHSA. LACHSA's achievements throughout the past twenty-five years are unrivalled. What is even more remarkable is that these achievements happened despite a lack of a building. Only because we are who we are does this new facility symbolize our greatest potential yet for unprecedented greatness.
