From Where You Are...To Where You Want to Be

Quote Of the Month

"If we do not cultivate attentive awareness, we will miss the divine presence springing forth all around us in unrestrained beauty and power."

Prayer of the Month
"Gracious God,
Calm in us a place where your peace can begin.
Raise up in us a hope for life made new.
Open our eyes to signs of your presence and work. Tune our ears to your call and our hearts to your love. Birth in us something new and wondrous,
Ready us to receive you. Amen."

Greetings!

It is already mid-October! Most of us are now caught up in the energy and excitement of the busy program year. In the midst of a season that often becomes a chaotic whirlwind, we can better maintain life balance through the practice of Paying Attention. So - that is the focus of this month's newsletter.   Enjoy!
~Sharon

This is a great time to make your desire to move forward a reality. Read below about the benefits of Individual Coaching.

Paying Attention

As you read this newsletter, pause and take 5 deep breaths. Immerse yourself in the feeling of each inhale and exhale. Now, bring to mind something that makes you smile. Go ahead, try it. It takes about 45 seconds. That feels good, doesn't it? It is so easy and takes so little time. Simple practices like this are powerful because they encourage us to stop and pay attention.

Paying attention to something as basic as our own breath, and as pleasant as a memory of happy goodness in our lives, is a centering opportunity that can help keep our hearts and minds in balance even in the midst of a tense day.  It is an uncomplicated practice for those who live complicated lives.

Paying attention can also be a fruitful opportunity for individuals and groups who are immersed in the process of addressing a seemingly irresolvable issue. Stress and frustration often block our ability to tap into the deep well of our natural creativity and resourcefulness. Paying attention, first to our own breath, and then to a fresh way of engaging a situation, can assist us in reframing and exploring previously unconsidered options.
Try the intentional discipline of paying attention a few times a day.

Invite your problem solving group to try paying attention.

*What makes you smile?

*How would life be different if you could more regularly access your natural creativity and resourcefulness?
