Greetings!
The summer has begun! For many this is a season bursting with opportunities to relax, renew, refresh and....BREATHE. This month we will focus on the importance of embracing a time of pause in our lives and how taking the time to JUST BREATHE and to KEEP BREATHING will assist us in developing and designing the lives we really want. Enjoy!

| Just Breathe | |
A sure sign that life has become too stressful becomes evident when you are reminded to 'just breathe', and you realize that your body is tense and tightened up, and you actually have to concentrate on the basic task of breathing before it becomes regular and relaxed. Deep breathing is supposed to be so natural - the very essence of life. But when we get caught up in a whirlwind of activity and busyness, even our breathing is compromised! Simple inhaling and exhaling with a focused and determined ease, is a way to create pause in the midst of a busy day that can assist us in gaining perspective. Try it right now:
~Take a breath....a deep breath. Do you feel tightness? Exhale. Close your eyes and take another breath. Inhale. Exhale. Focus on your breathing for a few moments.
~How would your daily life be different if you regularly paused to just breathe? |
| Keep Breathing | | When we are juggling multiple responsibilities, it is easy to lose a healthy perspective regarding what is really happening in our midst. Everything begins to seem urgent and the intense swirl of life can feel unmanageable. Paying attention to the act of regular breathing can be a great gift in the midst of daily living and working. Intentional deep breathing on an on-going basis is an opportunity to consistently pay attention to what we need to do and what can be set aside. When we commit ourselves this simple discipline, we often are able step back from the melodrama we may have created all by ourselves, and become much more effective and efficient in dealing with the issues at hand. Keep breathing...and you will enhance your ability to maintain perspective.
~What are some of the indicators in your life that highlight your need keep breathing?
~ How would you work differently if you kept breathing and maintained boundaries and a balanced perspective? |
