LAUGHter & Tears

This last week, the roof of our house was replaced. 29 years of material and dust and debris got chipped off the wooden frame. The usual peace and quiet of our abode was disturbed for two days as ten men banged and hammered above our heads. And then came the tar.

I found myself feeling a little out of sorts with all these changes. My routine was drastically altered. I was not able to nap. The quiet was momentarily disturbed. I was stretched way beyond my comfort zone.

Feeling so many things and not able to express these unprocessed emotions. Needing to cry and yet, afraid to let loose and fall apart. My body internalized all the stress I was experiencing.

An old friend stopped by to wish us Happy Holy-Days. We reminisced about our families and past. We reMINDed each other of the good, the bad and the ugly. And We LAUGHed, LAUGHed, LAUGHed. We laughed so hard we cried. And it felt so good. So funny how these two emotions are so similar. (great article about these similarities).

I slept so well that night. The next morning, I found my enthusiasm and energy and all was well in my world again.
