I just want to take this opportunity to recognize the exceptional customer service provided by your service department. My 2008 Baja had the lower unit go out the Thursday before the 4th. Your service staff was able to get my boat into the shop, diagnose the problem, obtain the parts & repair my boat in 2 days. This would not have happened if your service manager, Lyle Robertson, had not personally picked up the parts on his way home from work. Tony installed it the next day and we were on the water by 1 pm. For someone with limited lake time each year, this quick turn around time was phenomenal. In addition to the great customer service, Lyle and Tony were excellent to work with. They do a great job of professionally representing Glencove Marina. I might also mention that Pat Loethen does a great job as well. I have been a Glencove Marina customer for many years and have always had good experiences with your organization.... but this latest experience was simply oustanding.

Accordingly, I felt compelled to let you know what a great job your staff is doing and rest assured, I have already told about twenty other people as well. Your team is the best! Please pass on my thanks to Lyle, Tony and Pat. I really do appreciate their outstanding efforts.

SEPTEMBER 2011

HAPPY LABOR DAY

This summer has been great and we have enjoyed each and every holiday as well as every other day that we got to see all of our friends boating at the lake. The Lake of the Ozarks has to be the best place to live or vacation as far as I'm concerned.

With the help of our new Glencove Marina website, YachtWorld.com, Boats.com, and BoatCrazy.com Steve and Barb have moved some boats this summer. I hope we were able to help you out whether you were buying or selling. We have a great selection and more coming all the time so be sure to check back if you don't see what you are looking for. We want to thank everyone who stopped by for a burger, dog or brat over the holiday weekends this summer. Bruce enjoyed meeting everyone on the dock as he cooked and he'll be at it again this weekend so stop by for some gas and grab a bite.

It's time for the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association Fall Boat Show. This year's show will be held September 16-18th and is again at Captain Ron's located at the 34 1/2 mm.

The show this year will be larger than in years past, with even more dealers and some new boat lines represented, including our own Monterey line of pleasure boats. We will be on hand with the Monterey 264 FS, 328 SS, and of course the luxurious Monterey 340 Sport Yacht. They will all be in the water and ready for you to board. TV PERSONALITY VISITS GLENCOVE!

You just never know who is going to be in town for the Shootout and who might just walk in the front door of Glencove Marina. Well if you are a fan of the TV show AXEMEN on the history channel, you will know of Jimmy Smith. Yes he and his son are the ones that dive down in alligator infested waters to retrieve the logs on at the bottom of the waterways. Yes, of course he's also the one that falls out of the boat, blows up the truck, burns up his brakes and just continually gets into trouble. Because of that misfortune he is a fan favorite on the show.

Jimmy visited the lake for the first time just to attend the Shootout. He helped Laren and Curtis of Precision Jet Boats deliver a Precision & Glencove sponsored jet boat that was used as a patrol boat at this years Shootout. Laren told Sherry "that was a blast, we are going to do it again next year!"

Jimmy, Laren, and Curtis stayed around and had lunch with the staff and we really enjoyed visiting with them. Pictured above with Jimmy are Glencove Marina owners Bruce and Sherry Jackson. CHAMBER RIBBON CUTTING AT GLENCOVE MARINA

The Lake area Chamber of Commerce stopped by Glencove Marina to officially recognize the change of ownership with the customary ribbon cutting.

Many Glencove staff members and chamber members were on hand for the ceremony and Bruce and Sherry provided lunch afterwards for everyone in attendance. Glencove has been a member of the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce for many years & will continue to support their efforts at the lake.

STOCKING WET STEPS

When you see a great product, the smart thing to do is to partner up and bring that product to the customers! Glencove Marina is doing just that with Wet Steps. These wonderful ladders are proudly manufactured right here at the Lake of the Ozarks. We all need a way to get out of the water and with Wet Steps on our dock, you'll be able to get out if you jump in to cool off while we gas up your boat! If you've got bad knees you're going to love them!

We have placed our first order and expect our steps to arrive in time for the holiday weekend. We will carry both the 5 and 6 step ladders as well as the extension for E-Z boarding onto your boat. They also make a 4 step ladder and a K-9 Aqua Ramp for the pooches! We are installing a ladder on our dock for your use and to serve as a demo for you to try out so come by and see what you think. Beware, you will want to take a ladder home with you....

SKATERFEST VISITS THE LAKE

Glencove Marina has the honor of hosting the official launch ramp for the Skaterfest boats as they arrive to the lake. Drivers began pulling into the marina at the beginning of the week so they could take advantage of all the festivities around the lake. Sherry says 'one of the sponsors came to visit me at the marina a couple of years ago and asked if we would be interested in helping out the Skaterfest by letting them use our ramp to launch because they would be staying at Camden on the Lake (the Horny Toad at that time)'. It didn't take Sherry long to say 'of course'. Each year as the Skaters begin showing up at Glencove, Sherry and the others love listening to the engines start up and watching them idle out of the cove. 'They are some of the most beautiful boats', says Sherry.

Ocassionally one of the techs gets to help out if one of the boats needs attention. Above is Tony helping one of the Skater owners to get his boat back on the water. This year was great and Glencove would just like to say... see you next year!

THE "OTHER" BOAT RACE AT THE LAKE!

If you were in town for the Lake of the Ozarks SHOOTOUT last weekend you saw a great show. However that is NOT the only boat race at the lake. Though these boats wont be going quite as fast, we would like to tell you about this fun family event coming up on September 11th. It's the homemeade boat races to benefit Kids' Harbor Child Advocacy Center. This will be a great event and is being sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association. Boats cannot be built on any type of existing hull and it can only be powered by up to 4 people -or- wind. Bring the whole family out for a fun time and cheer on your favorite homemade watercraft Sunday, September 11th.

With slips from 10x24 up to 18x50, we can accomodate your boat and we have all of the amenities on-site that you will need. We offer transient slips for those who are visiting on vacation or for temporary storage while you have dock modifications done.
