Europe in your classroom - Comenius is one of the most popular international education programmes for UK schools, colleges and local authorities.
Connecting classrooms Europe
Connecting classrooms
Connecting Classrooms is the British Council's global programme for supporting school links. Recruitment is currently underway for clusters of UK secondary schools and colleges and their local authorities to form links with schools and districts in countries across Europe and neighbouring regions.

Connecting Classrooms Europe represents an opportunity to work with Europe in a new way, and to add value to ongoing Comenius activity.

Rather than facilitating partnerships between individual schools, Connecting Classrooms supports partnerships between separate clusters of schools. Cluster partnerships not only allow for different levels of engagement tailored to the needs of individual schools, they are also particularly suited to addressing issues around community cohesion.

Connecting Classrooms Europe includes countries not currently participating in the Comenius programme, such as Israel, Russia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The deadline for applications is May 11. To find out how you can involve your secondary school click here.

The upcoming 30 April application deadline is for visits to Germany and Spain in October 2010. This programme is available to teachers in England delivering languages at Key Stage 2. Follow the link for information on how to apply.
