Questions that Change Your Mind
In 1960 President Kennedy declared that he wanted a man on the moon within the decade. Asked by a journalist how he was going to do that, he replied, "I have absolutely no idea." What's your big desire?

Greetings! The answer for the last Brainteaser competition is: One Thousand. A special mention for Oliver Asha, from Acumen Business Law, who provided the most creative answer! He said 'Wahid', which is 1 in Arabic... If only you had been the first to email in, we would've accepted it! Congratulations to Mark Poulton, from Stephen Rimmer Solicitors, who won a free website review! This week's BrainTeaser is sponsored by Plants4Presents. |

As another PAYE tax year fast approaches, employers are planning their PAYE end of year administration. To the busy employer and entrepreneur, it appears that every year the Budget brings with it yet more new rules & regulations of which you need to be aware of. The responsibility for knowing and complying with this growing list of obligations lies solely with you, the employer. Here are some important dates for this tax year's (2010/11) PAYE year end: - Balance of Tax and NIC deducted to be paid by 19th April
- The PAYE returns and employee details must be with the Tax Office by 19th May, so if you are sending these via post, be sure to include delivery time
- Payment of Class 1A NIC on benefits by 19th July.
Be very careful when you are carrying out these tasks, because if you get it wrong, the full force of the Revenue's penalty regime may be used against you. These penalties include: - Late submission of PAYE returns - £100 per 50 employees for each month
- Incorrect returns through negligence or fraud - up to £3,000 per offence
- Tax and NIC paid late to the Revenue may carry an interest charge
Unfortunately, even after the Returns are submitted, and the balance of tax and NIC has been paid, your fears may not be over. Compliance visits by specialist Revenue and Contributions Agency staff have increased steadily in recent years. Click here to read the rest of this article. |

It's called Inbound Marketing.
Inbound Marketing is where customers contact you, instead of more traditional 'outbound' methods, such as cold calling and direct mail. Inbound marketing has also been found to be more successful than these mediums!
Inbound Marketing includes things like blogs, social networking, websites, email marketing, article marketing, and a lot more!
So, if you need more customers to ring you, or walk through your doors, we have some very good news for you!
We will be hosting a series of webinars focused on the power of inbound marketing, and how to implement it. We will cover every possible avenue of inbound marketing, and our aim is to teach you exactly how you can increase lead generation to your business by up to 4x!!
We would like to invite anyone who is determined to increase the amount of business enquiries they receive to register for our free webinars. They will begin 7th April 2011 at 3pm.
Book your place here!
This exclusive series is called 'Keepers' Business Growth Channel: Inbound Marketing', and is a joint venture between Keepers and Get Me In Google. This is the first webinar that Keepers have ever held, but places are strictly limited, so please confirm your place for this webinar now.

31/3 Year End
The majority of you will have a year-end date of 31st March. If you do, get your books together, and get them to your accountant ASAP.
Although your Returns aren't due until 31st December (for Ltd companies) or 31st Jan (for Sole Traders, Partnerships & Individuals), here's why you should do it NOW:
- Your accountant will be able to tell you exactly how to plan your tax for the next year, rather than if you give your records to your accountant a month before they're due, when this information will be of little use.
- Your accountant will also be able to take information from your accounts, and analyse your successes and failures over the last 12 months. Now is the time to act to define and formulate new plans for the current and/or next year. Once again, if you leave it until a month before the return is due, this information will be of little use.
- You will know exactly where you stand, and you will have 9 or 10 months to plan how you will pay the tax, rather than getting a surprise tax bill a month before it needs paying.
So, get your records to your accountant ASAP!
If you would like to know more about how we can help you with regard to your year end returns, click here to request a free, 1 hour consultation.
