Hi, I'm Dan Pennington, and I'm Sales Manager at The Foreign Property Shop Ltd. We have now been in business for 3 years, building a successful business despite the recession. We are based near Maidstone, in Kent, and we sell foreign properties. We are also part of a wider property company, Hanroc Developments Ltd (UA), who build developments in Eastern Europe and elsewhere. They are winners of the CNBC best ski development Award 2009. Our specialist USA website is www.property4peanuts.com. Our Directors are all property professionals, with many years experience. For example, Jeremy started in 1983 with an apartment renovation in Bastille, Paris. He then built up a buy to let business in the UK, and then branched out into foreign property. Another Director, Alex, moved from running one of Ukraine's best known companies to being a Director of Hanroc and FPS. Our broad range of property experience and expertise in local markets help us provide our clients with better products, and after sales support.
In liaison with this Spotlight feature, we have a special offer currently available. We are offering a 2 bedroom detached house in a good area of Michigan, America, renovated and tenanted at $600 pcm for $32,900. It is freehold, with a guaranteed clean title, being sold under bank valuation. We will pay all legal fees on the transfer of this property to its new owner. For more information on this house, please click here. We only have a few competitors in our main markets of Ukraine and USA, as our products are market leading. We seek exceptional value situations and look to offer them before they become commonly known. Our 5 year plan is to develop a broadly based international property business. Keepers have helped us by reducing our accountancy expenses; we've found Barry and the team friendly and responsive. Emails are usually answered the same day, fulfilling what Keepers promise in their brochure. Ours isn't a simple business and Keeper's open mindedness and flexibility are invaluable, that and their keeping to reasonable quotes for work. If you would like to contact us for more info, please visit www.thefps.com/usa-property.html, or call me personally on 07809 647 987. |

You wouldn't go on a cross-country holiday without looking at a map to work out where you are planning to stop and what sightseeing activities there are on the way. Planning the start of a business is no different. You need a plan that you have sat down and thought about and then committed it to writing. Here are few more questions to consider....
5. Computers And Other Technology
There are so many things to consider relating to the preparation of a business plan. So far we've touched on just a few. This post asks some questions about computers and technology. I'm sure you can think of plenty more.
Do you need to upgrade computers or other technology?
Are you using the internet for business?
What are your strategies on development of a commercial website?
Have you appointed a systems manager / IT co-ordinator?
Have you compiled computer security systems and procedures?
Do you undertake regular backups?
You can find all previous parts of the Business Plan here.

HMRC SCAMS We have had a lot of people phoning us recently, telling us that HMRC had sent them an email, saying that they had made an overpayment on their PAYE, and if they sent their bank details to HMRC they will get a refund. Luckily, they contacted us before they sent any details off, and falling for the scam. Whilst many emails may come through that look genuine (both content AND email address), it is important that you remember NEVER to send your bank details to ANY email address that asks for them. HMRC published the following warning on 21st August: HMRC related scam examples Tax rebate - updated 21 August 2009
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) would not inform customers of a tax rebate via email, or invite them to complete an online form to receive a rebate of tax.
Do not visit the website contained within the email or disclose any personal or payment information.
Email addresses used to distribute the tax rebate emails include:
* tax-inform@hmrc-information.co.uk * online.paper@hmrcpaper.co.uk * office.tax@hmrc.taxreturn.co.uk * customers@hmrc.gov.uk * help.desk@hmrc.notify-online.co.uk * online.notify@hmrc-customs.co.uk * hmrchelpdesk@hrmchelpdesk.co.uk * securemail@hmrc.gov.uk * tax-refund@hmrcforms.co.uk * hmrc@tax-revenue.uk * refundsdept@hmrc.gov.uk * refunds@hmrc.gov.uk * taxcredits@hmrc.co.uk * tax-service@hmrc.customs.gov.uk * service@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
HMRC does not send out emails using these email addresses.
As you can see, most of these email addresses look like they are genuine, especially securemail@hmrc.gov.uk, but once again, NEVER send your bank details out in an email, no matter how genuine the email looks.
