Regional Development Charges - Update

Region of PeelOn Thursday, June 14, 2012 a Public Meeting of Peel Regional Council regarding changes to Regional Development Charges took place.

The purpose of this meeting was to present information to the public and to obtain input on the proposed Region of Peel Development Charges By-law and Background Study.

These proposed changes will effect all proposed developments in the Town of Caledon as well as in the cities of Brampton and Mississauga.

During the meeting Regional Council voted 14 to 9 to defer further consideration of the matter until the next Regional Council meeting in September, which will allow for the required technical work to be completed by regional staff.

In the meantime, Region of Peel Development Charges will remain unchanged, pending a decision by Regional Council on September 13, 2012.
