Bolton Posts Strong Population Growth from 2006 to 2011

Region of PeelOn March 19, 2012 the Region of Peel issued a statement to clarify an error in the 2011 Census data that had been released by Statistics Canada - which indicate that Bolton's population decreased by 1.1% between 2006 to 2011.

However, according to Arvin Prasad, Region of Peel Director of Integrated Planning: "Although recently released Census data indicates a small decrease in population for the Bolton Population Centre, the Region of Peel has been able to use estimates to show actual growth for the Bolton Rural Service Centre. The Bolton Population Centre, as defined by Statistics Canada, excludes approximately 300 homes in reporting the 2011 population, which are captured in the Bolton Rural Service Centre."

The calculations based on these additional homes show that between 2006 and 2011, the population of Bolton grew 5.0% per cent, which outpaces the overall growth rate of 4.2% for the Town of Caledon.

This figure has been calculated based on the Bolton area's boundaries, as defined by the Bolton Rural Service Centre in Schedule D of the Regional Official Plan.

Bolton Community Improvement Plan (CIP)

Bolton CIPThinking of renovating the faade of your building or improving the landscaping at your property?

Perhaps you are considering a complete redevelopment of your site?

If you are an industrial or commercial landowner in the community of Bolton you may be eligible for Financial Incentive Grants from the Town of Caledon.

The Financial Incentive Grant Programs provide opportunities for the Town of Caledon to promote redevelopment, revitalization and beautification in the community.

Therefore, there is a great potential benefit for Bolton's industrial and commercial property and business owners who apply for the CIP Grant Programs to assist with the cost of their improvement projects.

Two more Bolton business owners have completed improvement projects and benefited from the CIP Financial Incentive Programs:

Inside Out Chiropractic received grants to assist with the cost of signage, awnings, lighting and landscaping. Their new building located at 27 King Street East looks fantastic and has created a great space to allow for the expansion of their business and for additional leasable space, which is now occupied by Power of 2 Studio.

North West Holdings Ltd. also collected grants for landscape improvements and an energy efficiency retrofit of their building located at 1 Queensgate Boulevard, as well as for landscape improvements to 12612 Highway 50.
