CALLING ALL GOLFERS!!!
8th Annual Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament - Sep. 14, 2011 | | |
Time is running out to register for the 8th Annual Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament, which will take place on September 14, 2011 at Osprey Valley Resorts, in Alton.
This highly anticipated annual event starts at 8:30 a.m. and includes all of the following:
- breakfast followed by a shotgun-start, 18 hole "best ball" tournament on either the Hoot or the Toot course (power cart included)
- a post-tournament cocktail reception
- a banquet dinner, prize draws and goodie bag
- and, opportunities to network with Councillors, Town Staff and local business leaders
Players may register in teams of up to four, or as individuals to be assigned to a foursome.
Each year, the Caledon Council Community Golf Tournament supports a Caledon-based community agency.
This year, tournament proceeds will support Hospice Caledon Bethell House - a local non-profit agency that provides compassionate end-of-life care for residents of the Central West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).
Both sponsorship and player spaces are limited and registrants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Payments may be made via cheque, or Visa or Mastercard.

Caledon Farmers' Market Offers Something for Everyone. | | |
The Caledon Farmers' Market offers something to tempt everyone's taste buds.

Bolton BIA Launches New Website and Facebook Page | | |
Hot on the heels of its tremendously successful Midnight Madness event on August 12th, the Bolton Business Improvement Area (BIA) has launched a new website and Facebook page.
Both of these tools will allow the BIA to promote news and up coming events on behalf of its member businesses and draw shoppers from across Caledon and beyond into the downtown area.

 Under the guidance of the Caledon Economic Development Advisory Committee (CEDAC), the Town of Caledon's Economic Development Department is developing an active and robust Business Ambassador Program in an effort to assist Caledon-based businesses gain access to foreign markets.
To assist in this endeavour, business owners and representatives are invited to complete a brief questionnaire, which can be viewed and completed by clicking HERE.
The feedback captured by this survey will be used to shape the development of the Business Ambassador Program.

Family physicians play an integral role in providing primary health care and are essential in creating a healthy community to live, work, play and raise a family.
To this end, the Town of Caledon welcomes Dr. Ioana Tita to the community.

Caledon Mayor's Business Breakfast Event - October 19, 2011 | | |
The next Town of Caledon Mayor's Business Breakfast will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2011.
October is Small Business Month across Canada and the theme for this event will be:
Marketing and Promotion Solutions for Businesses of all Sizes.
It will include a networking breakfast followed by a keynote presentation by renowned business author and marketing coach Larry Easto.
In May of this year Mr Easto also collaborated with the Town of Caledon's Economic Development Department to develop The Best Internet Marketing Course for Small Business.
Admission is FREE and ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
The venue is still being finalized and these details will be announced shortly.

| UPDATE: Bolton Community Improvement Plan (CIP) | | |

On April 5, 2011 Caledon Council adopted a report which will see the approval authority for CIP Financial Incentive Grant Programs be delegated to the Treasurer. The Treasurer will only approve applications that have received unanimous recommendation from the CIP Review Panel.
This will reduce the processing time of completed Grant Applications to approximately two weeks. The Financial Incentive Grant Programs provide an opportunity for the Town of Caledon to promote redevelopment, revitalization and beautification in the community.
Therefore, there is a great potential benefit for Bolton's industrial and commercial property and business owners who apply for the CIP Grant Programs to assist with the cost of their improvement projects.
