It's almost here...

After months of planning, Opening Day for the 2011 Caledon Farmers' Market season will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on June 16, 2011.

This event will feature something for everyone, including:

• a delicious opening day cake which will be shared with market goers.
• the launch of the Albion Bolton Branch of the Caledon Public Library Caledon Public Library will be launching its Summer Reading Club in the Market's "Children's Zone"
• colouring sheets and face-painting for kids
• a culinary demonstration by best-selling author and local food guru Stacey Fokas - who will use a variety of products available at the Market
• a Make-Your-Own Salad Dressing demonstration, courtesy of Eat Local Caledon
• and, of course, a great selection of vendors selling exceptional locally-grown or produced foods, crafts and artwork.

On Opening Day the Market will also be launching the "Market Sprouts Club". This is a NEW initiative that will enable children age 12-years and under to earn rewards while learning about food and participating in fun and educational food-related activities. There is no charge to enter this program.
