Caledon Investment Activity Update
Gap Inc.
Gap Inc. LogoOn August 24, 2010 Gap Inc. launched a dedicated e-commerce website that allows Canadian consumers to shop and order Gap, Gap Kids, Baby Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy products.

A key factor in the success of this decision is to provide a dedicated fulfillment centre to process and ship the orders in a timely manner.
To address this requirement, Gap Inc. built a dedicated, in-country fulfillment centre in Bolton, to ensure Canadian customers have better service and faster, reliable in-country shipping.

As a result, Canadian residents will not have to pay import and customs duties on any order and should receive faster shipments as they will not be delayed at customs. Online orders are shipped by Canada Post.

Best Buy
Best Buy LogoHome electronics giant Best Buy is currently in the final stages of opening its new 600,000+ sq. ft. distribution centre in Caledon, which will service retail stores across Eastern Canada - from St. John's, NL to Winnipeg, MB - while the bulk of its product will be distributed throughout the GTA and Southern Ontario.

When it opens it will employ 35 regular full-time staff as well as another 30 to 40 people on a seasonal basis to ensure its retail outlets are well stocked for Back to School and the Holiday Season.

According to Distribution Centre Management at Best Buy Canada, the decision to establish its new facility in Caledon was guided by a number of factors, including: workforce availability and Caledon's proximity to the GTA and transportation systems. The recent increase in development activity within the municipality was also an attractor as it indicated that other businesses had discovered that Caledon is an excellent location for business.
