Caledon Farmers' Market LogoNow in its second year, the Caledon Farmers' Market has quickly established itself as "the place to be on Thursday" between 3pm and 7pm.
 
Conveniently located at the Albion Bolton Community Centre (150 Queen Street South in Bolton), the Market offers a broad selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables, meats, baked goods, honey and chocolate as well as local crafters and artisans. 
 
Culinary demonstrations and live entertainment are regular features, and there is always something for the kids to do ~ making it a fun outing for the whole family.
 
Special Events:
- September 16 is Harvest Festival day
- October 7* will be a Thanksgiving Celebration event
(*NOTE: October 7 is the last Market day for 2010)

Innovation 2 Growing Globally - October 5
Innovation 2 Growing GloballyThe Town of Caledon is a proud sponsor of the upcoming Innovation 2 Growing Globally event, which will take place on October 5, 2010 at the Mississauga Convention Centre.  
 
Hosted by the Mississauga Board of Trade and the Research Innovation Commercialization (RIC) Centre this event will feature key industry leaders from the manufacturing and trade sectors who will share best practices and insights on how to expand their markets through innovation and international trade.
 
This forum is designed to address the current issues plaguing the Canadian economy. It will explore how innovation and creativity can lead to business growth and international trade, and provide strategies for growth in global markets.
 
It will run from 7:30am to 1:30pm and the cost is $75* per person, and $250* per Trade Show Exhibitor.

To participate, you can shop at local farms, U-picks, wineries and farmers' markets as well as choose the local option at shops and restaurants.

Caledon Small Business Enterprise Centre at a New Location
Caledon Community ServicesThe Caledon Small Business Enterprise Centre will soon be moving into its new home at the Caledon Community Services (CCS) office at the Royal Courtyards on 18 King Street East, Bolton.
 
Starting in September, the task of servicing the informational and service needs of Caledon's entrepreneurs and small businesses will be managed by the Employment Services division of CCS on behalf of the Town of Caledon.
 
They will provide a comprehensive suite of business development services, including: business ownership and planning, start-up documentation, management strategies, customer service, staffing, sales skills, and a variety of educational and training opportunities.

Upcoming Events: Golf Tournament (Sep 15) and Caledon Day (Oct 2)
7th Annual Caledon Councillor Community Golf Tournament
Back for the seventh year, the Caledon Councillor Community Golf Tournament will take place on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Osprey Valley Resort.
 
Osprey Valley Resorts - TootThis highly anticipated annual event starts at 8:30am and includes all of the following:
  • breakfast: back bacon on bun
  • an 18 hole "best ball" tournament on either the Hoot or the Toot course (power cart included)
  • a post-tournament cocktail reception
  • a banquet dinner, prize draws and goodie bag
  • and, opportunities to network with Councillors, Town Staff and local business leaders
Players may register in teams of up to four, or as individuals to be assigned to a foursome.
 
Each year, the Caledon Councillor Community Golf Tournament supports a Caledon-based non-profit agency.
 
This year, tournament proceeds will support Headwaters Arts in establishing a new grant and bursary program for Caledon youth involved in any of the creative arts disciplines.
 
Both sponsorship and player spaces are limited and registrants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis*.
 
Payments may be made via cheque, or Visa or Mastercard.

Caledon Day
Saturday, October 2 marks the third annual Caledon Day!
 
Organized by a dedicated team of volunteers working with the Town, Caledon Day is a day of celebration, a day to connect all of Caledon's communities. Come out, see all that makes Caledon unique: Town Hall, 6311 Old Church Road, Caledon East.
 
Caledon Day LogoThis is a must-attend FREE event with something for everyone, including: 
  • family village
  • classic car show
  • the 53rd CACY Fine Arts Show
  • heritage bus tours
  • vendors and live music
  • a fireworks finale as spectacular as Caledon's fall colours
