Caledon Investment Activity Update
Caledon's industrial properties are seeing plenty of activity these days - particularly in Bolton.

Just four (4) months ago there was 2.1 million square feet of new vacant industrial warehousing/distribution space available in Bolton.

Today there is only a little more than 300,000 square feet available.

Some basic mathematics make it clear that 1.8 million square feet of Caledon's industrial space has been absorbed during this short period.

This increase in activity will have many positive outcomes for the local economy, including new employment opportunities for Caledon residents.

The details of these recent deals are still confidential, however over the next few weeks there will be several announcements on companies choosing to invest in Caledon.

Federal energy Grants Available
ecoENERGY logoSmall and medium-sized operators in the industrial, commercial and institutional sectors often lack the financial and technical resources to make energy-saving improvements to their facilities and operations.

Collectively, these energy-saving measures could help operators reclaim hundreds of millions of dollars in wasted energy costs per year.

As a result, on April 30, Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE) announced it will be offering the ecoENERGY Retrofit Incentive for Buildings program ~ which provides financial incentives for existing buildings and industrial processes to help them invest in becoming more energy efficient.

2009 Progress ReportCommercial Operations and Institutional Organizations can receive up to $10 per gigajoule of estimated energy savings, 25% of eligible project costs or $50,000 per project

Likewise, owners of Industrial Facilities may receive up to 25% of approved project costs, to a maximum of $50,000 per application, and $250,000 per corporate entity to implement energy-saving measures.

This program ends on March 31, 2011, OR when all funds are committed - whichever occurs first. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
