Fall Trail Etiquette
Fall is a great time to get out on the trails in Lakewood's parks. The temperatures can be perfect and the changing colors can be amazing. Whether you enjoy the paved trails throughout the city, or the multi-use dirt trails, remembering a few basic trail use guidelines will help ensure that all users have a great experience:
- Bicyclist must yield to all other users. Please remember to announce your presence before passing and slow to a safe speed.
- Pedestrians should make an effort to not block the entire trail.
- All users must yield to equestrians. Bicyclists should dismount, or ask the rider how best to pass.
- Please do not use muddy trails. Using muddy trails causes erosion, trail-widening and can damage park vegetation.
- Please consider coming to a complete stop when yielding to other users, rather than walking or riding off the trail. Leaving the trail surface causes trail-widening, braiding and damage to vegetation.
- Practice courtesy and respect with other trail users.
- Have fun and enjoy the outdoors!
