What's New

SOMETHING SPECIAL FROM WISCONSIN - We have received our first shipment of yarn from Ewetopia Farms, located in La Farge, WI. The white yarn is a dk weight Border Leicester/merino that is known for luster, softness, and strength. The dark brown is available in BorderLeicester/merino 2 ply, and chocolate wool/alpaca in worested weight.
Again new to the shop, and also from Wisconsin, is a 100% wool from Four Crows Farm. It is a beautiful varigated yarn that would make a wonderful scarf.
We have also enhanced our Blackberry Ridge invemtory.
In the new early fall issue of Voguknitting, Meg Swansen is starting a new series of articles on the techniques of Elizabeth's Zimmerman. Stop by and pick up your issue, as these articles may not be repeated.

Classes and Workshops ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pre-registration is required for all classes.
Gelato Felted Bag - Tuesday evening, July 13th from 7:00-8:00pm. Class fee is $10 plus materials. Teacher is Cathy Benecke. Learn to make a small purse with button closure that you will be able to felt. Stop in and see the cute samples we have. This class will be repeated Tuesday evening Aug 10 from 7-8. You may register now for any one of the these dates.
Thrummed Mittten Class - Tuesday morning, Aug 10, from 10 to noon. Class fee $15, plus materials. Teacher is Nan Bloch. These are warm and wonderful mittens. Knit using a bulky wool yarn and stuffed with heavenly fleece, they are fun to make and fun to wear.
Boku Vest - Knit this easy to knit, easy to wear vest. Tuesday July 6 from 10:00 - 11:30. You must come in to order your choice of Boku color, Boku is a wool/silk worsted weight yarn in drifting colorways.
Knit Your Way to Financial Security - A Five Step Program. Coming in June, July and August, the first Friday of each month, from 5:00 to 9:00. In this special series of workshops you will have the opportunity to discuss stressful financial concerns with an expert while you knit to relax your nerves. Red Oak Designs presents North Woods Afghan - Monday, July 18 through October, 9:00-10:30 or 6:30 to 8:00pm. Teacher is Claire. Class fee is $10.00 per session plus materials. You can attend one or all of the sessions but you must preregister at least by the Friday before each session.
Double-ended Crohook Prayer Shawl - A beautiful and interesting method of crocheting that produces a two-sided, two-color look. Tuesday, September 7,
from 10-noon. Teacher is Carol Ruplinger, fee is $15 plus materials.
Material: 4 skeins of Encore worsted (2 each of 2 colors) and a J or K long crohook.
Students receive 10% off supplies.

Lace Knitting at Cloveland Town Hall. For those who are interested in learning or practicing lace knitting, Nancy Elmer is offering a Lace Along Shawl. This ongoing project will be held at the Cloverland Town Hall as part of the regularly scheduled Second Wednesday of the Month Craft Group. Stop in at Sutter's for your supplies and further information.
