Here is an interesting concept.  Reduce your calorie intake and boost up your exercise.
This sounds logical, but when you apply the physiology, it doesn't work. So what is wrong with this concept?  First, the body needs food for fuel in order to stay energized. If you don't eat enough food your body will slow down your metabolism and prevent you from losing weight.  The more you work out the more it creates a demand for food for fuel.  This slows down your metabolism even more, making weight loss more difficult.  We all have probably tried to lose weight and started out dropping weight in the first couple of weeks. Then all of a sudden it stops, and for months you find yourself struggling with eating until you give up.  Dieting is the major problem because most weight loss programs cut calories to low to maintain permanent weight loss. In order to lose permanent weight loss you must create a balance between food intake and activity.  It must be done in a way to were you enjoy the process, which improves your chances of developing long term lifestyle changes.  I must say there is a big difference between someone who is eating a normal amount of food and someone eating way too many calories than their body can burn off.  Your body can only burn so many calories in a day. If you exceed this amount you will have to balance out the amount of food you consume with your calorie expenditure.  But you don't have to drastically reduce your calories to the point where you are uncomfortable. The key words are portion control and consistency.  This is when you are able to eat food in reasonable portions and still manage weight loss.

  Metabolism
  What?
Tape waist
What does this word mean?  You hear this word in connection with weight loss and calories, but what really is metabolism? Understanding how metabolism affects our lives is essential to effective weight loss.  Metabolism is the rate your body burns calories and the speed your body stores fat.  If your metabolism is slow it will burn calories slowly and store fat fast.  Just the opposite happens for a fast metabolism.  How many times we eat per day and how many hours elapse between meals affect our metabolism by slowing it down if we go for long periods without eating. Exercising and not consuming enough calories will also slow down your metabolism.  Eating several small meals a day will speed up your metabolism and accelerate your weight loss.  This is an essential step to long term weight loss.

The other phase of our weight loss program is to get the body to burn enough calories for weight loss to occur.  Increased calorie burning can be accomplished in two major ways.  First, your body is burning a huge amount of calories per day just to maintain life without any movement.  This is a metabolic process that burns calories equal to your body weight per day.  An example would be if you weighed 150 pounds, your body would have to burn 1500 (150x10) calories to maintain this weight.  If you do not eat often, your metabolism will slow down and burn only a fraction of what it should per day and tend to store a large portion of the food you eat.  In order to burn the maximum calories per day through your metabolism you need to
eat several small meals per day. The other option to create weight loss is to burn calories through extra daily movement or exercise. The more you exercise, the more food you need to eat to make sure your metabolism stays elevated. If you exercise without adding more food, your weight loss will stop.  Because the body will not burn calories effectively without a sufficient amount of food for fuel. Build your nutrition plan upon these basic rules and you will be very successful at keeping your weight off.

Insulin Resistance Syndrome

There is another factor that affects weight gain around your waistline, fat storage, and difficulty losing weight. For most people, too much weight is too much fat. The fat from insulin resistance syndrome is generally stored in and around abdominal organs in both males and females. It is currently suspected that hormonal effects from such fat are a precipitating cause of insulin resistance.  This topic is way to complex to explain in this short article, so we will provide you with a link to where you can inform yourself about it.  This is vital for women and men, please read.  Learn more on reducing the fat from around your waistline.
